Mercy Franciscan Hospital - Western Hills is located within 20 minutes of the area and Mercy Fransiscan-Mt. Airy is approximately 25 minutes away. The district has highly trained medical technicians and an ambulance service to local medical facilities.

This area was established as a township in 1791 and was settled by Judge John Cleves Symmes of New Jersey, and by William Henry Harrison and his grandson, Benjamin Harrison, both of whom later served as President of the United States.

Good Samaritan Hospital, located in Downtown Cincinnati, and Mercy Franciscan	Hospital - Western Hills are the closest hospital facilities; both are about 25 minutes from Whitewater Township.

Whitewater Township marks the southwest corner of Hamilton County and the state of Ohio. Harrison and Crosby Township border Whitewater Township to the north and Colerain and Miami Townships lie eastward. The Great Miami and Whitewater Rivers weave their way between the three township communities: Elizabethtown and Hooven, and Miamitown, renowned for its numerous antique shops.

Two parks, Whitewater Park and Fenwick Park, are located in Whitewater Township; both contain baseball and soccer fields. The Whitewater Township Community Center offers residents two senior groups and other services.  It has picnic shelters, playgrounds, baseball and soccer fields, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts and a walking trail. The joint Miami-Whitewater Hamilton County Park is another valuable resource, its golf course is a haven for Whitewater Township's golf enthusiasts.

Miamitown offers the most shopping opportunities of Whitewater Township's three communities, drawing far-away visitors to browse its antique and craft shops. In the tradition of small towns, local mom and pop stores serve Whitewater Township residents. Northgate Mall is only 15 minutes away and offers the conveniences of a large shopping center.

The small-town atmosphere created by a population of 5,500 draws newcomers to Whitewater Township to join many lifelong residents. Easy access to larger towns along with a strong sense of community make Whitewater Township a convenient and inviting place to live. It's a quiet, small-town lifestyle.

Whitewater Township

Nearby I-275 and I-74 make it a mere 15 minute drive from Whitewater Township to Downtown Cincinnati and a 25 minute drive to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. No bus lines service Whitewater Township.

Cincinnati, Hamilton and Lawrenceburg hospitals serve the Harrison area, and Mercy Franciscan Medical Center - Harrison puts a paramedic unit and air care in the immediate area. Numerous physicians, dental, optical offices and a medical lab are situated in Harrison and the Bright Health Center and Ludlow Hill Clinic are nearby.

Harrison is located 25 minutes west of downtown Cincinnati, bordering Indiana to the west. Established in the 1800s by war veterans, the area became incorporated into a village in 1850 and a city in 1981. The area has been called “Harrison” since 1814 as a nod to local resident General William Henry Harrison, the ninth U.S. president.

The City of Harrison maintains four recreational play fields for sports activities, and six parks. The recreation commission operates supervised summer recreation programs. Local groups have youth baseball, football and soccer programs. Miami-Whitewater Forest, operated by the Hamilton County Park Board, adjoins the area and offers golfing, swimming, fishing, camping and horseback riding. Two private golf courses and a swim and tennis club are in the immediate vicinity. Brookville Lake is 20 minutes from Harrison, offering all outdoor recreation plus provisions for boating and sailing. 

Harrison has plenty of activities happening throughout the year. During the summer, there are Friday Night Movies, Tuesday Night Concerts and a Fourth of July parade. Residents also enjoy an annual Halloween event and Christmas parade. 

The Harrison Senior Center has many programs and social activities. Residents can also exercise with programs including line dancing, walking  and general exercise classes.

The area is served by several shopping plazas, including Tall Oaks and Crossroads Plaza as well as other shopping strip centers. Restaurants, pharmacies, barbers and beauticians, child care centers, sport shops, jewelers and grocery supermarkets are among the services available in Harrison. Excellent shopping facilities are located about 15 minutes east in western Cincinnati. 

Locally owned as well as franchised, national brand restaurants are located in Harrison. Whether you are hungry for Greek, Mexican, Korean or Italian cuisine, you will be satisfied with your options in Harrison.

Interstate 275 connects Harrison with Cincinnati to the east, Indiana to the west, Kentucky and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to the south, and links two other major Interstates, I-75 and I-71. Primarily a residential community, several important industrial firms are located near the area. Interstate 74 divides the area and soon after the construction of this major highway, families from more densely populated areas east of Harrison contributed to the development of newer communities to the south of I-74. The north remains primarily homes on larger lots, with some developments restricted to at least five-acre tracts.

Harrison

Access to the area is by car, via Interstate 74 or U.S. 52. The area is located within 20 minutes of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and, adjacent to the city, Harrison Airport accommodates small private and corporate aircraft.

Mercy Hospital - West is located within five minutes of Bridgetown. Good Samaritan Western Ridge and Childrens' Hospital Green Township are both located within ten minutes. There are several other fine Cincinnati hospitals located with 20-25 minutes including University Hospital, Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Christ Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital.

Bridgetown is located in Green Township and is named after Bridgeton, New Jersey, the home of early settlers from 1820. Since the early part of this century, Bridgetown has developed from farmland of rolling fields and green pastures into a busy, active community, but still retaining a casual lifestyle. There are 14,000 residents in the area.

There are five golf courses in the area: Neumann and Woodland are public courses while Miamiview and Western Hills are private country clubs. The Aston Oaks golf course offers beautiful views of the Ohio River. Kuliga Park features four pickleball courts, three tennis courts, six baseball diamonds, four soccer fields, two playgrounds, paved walking paths, a pavilion/amphitheater, and facilities for picnicking. Green Township has its own paved two-mile Walk and Bike Trail available for public use. Veteran's Park has paved walking trails, a playground, and baseball and basketball facilities. Mitchell Memorial Park offers many trails including an eight mile mountain bike trail, the only one in Hamilton County. Two bowling facilities provide 80 lanes for leagues of all ages. In nearby Westwood, the Gamble Nippert “Y” offers membership at a nominal fee and provides instructional and recreational programs, including three outdoor and one indoor swimming pools. There are many local swim club options. Active Knothole and CYO sport programs are available for both boys and girls.

At the edge of Bridgetown is the Western Hills Shopping Mall and Glenway Crossing. Western Village is directly across on Glenway Avenue. Located on Harrison Avenue is Harrison Greene, a shopping center with many restaurants and stores. There are large retailers (Target, Lowe's, and Home Depot), supermarkets, a variety of shops marketing a multitude of products and services, small family owned businesses that have been in the area for generations, and branches of many major banking institutions. 

Branching off main thoroughfares are lovely neighborhoods of tree-lined streets and well-built homes. Soon after World War II, development began in earnest and has continued steadily. Cape Cod designs, ranch styles and custom colonials are plentiful. Recent development has introduced contemporary construction, well suited to the terrain of the area.

Bridgetown

Queen City Metro Bus service operates seven days a week to and from the downtown area, with “express” service during peak periods. A choice of several access routes to the downtown area by car makes the trip only 20-25 minutes.

Shawnee Lookout Park provides an opportunity for many outdoor activities including an 18-hole golf course. Mitchell Memorial Forest is also available for picnics, riding and hiking. Miami-Whitewater Forest is a short drive away and offers golfing, swimming, fishing, camping and horseback riding. Easy access to the Ohio River and its many marinas offer residents many water sports. The village of Shady Lane provides residents with swimming and tennis. Deer Run Country Club offers many facilities including golf, swimming and tennis to its residents. Ashton Oaks Golf Course is new in the area.

Many specialty shops, supermarkets, medical and dental services are available locally. Additional shopping is located in the adjacent Western Hills area, approximately 10 minutes away. The Whitewater Mall is located on Routes 50 and 128 and offers a variety of stores.

The township is made up of the villages of Addyston, Cleves, North Bend and a rapidly developing unincorporated area east of Cleves, the village of Shady Lane. The terrain is an interesting combination of hills and valleys, providing many properties with Ohio River views. The North Bend of the Ohio River is considered to be one of the three most scenic views in the entire 1000 mile course of the Ohio River . Properties range from small homes in the earliest settled areas to two story designs in the Shady Lane area, which offer large lots, a greenbelt and recreational facilities to it residents. Deer Run Country Club Estates is an area featuring custom homes in a country club atmosphere, with club membership for residents. Ashton Oaks is a new Golf Course community featuring river views and a Jack Nicklaus designed course.

Miami Township (West)

Accessibility to this area by car is from U.S. Route 52, or State Route 264. It abuts Green Township and is approximately 30 minutes driving time from Downtown Cincinnati.
