Cincinnati, OH

Six of Cincinnati’s major hospitals including Christ Hospital, University Hospital, Good Samaritan, and the Childrens Hospital Medical Center are within 15 to 20 minutes. The Daniel Drake Center for post-acute care is located within a five to 10-minute drive. The Tri-Health Evendale Hospital is a 10-minute drive. Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital is 15-minutes away. Wyoming operates a full clinic staffed 24 hours a day.

Wyoming was named after the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania, with settlers arriving  in the early 1800s. The Miami & Erie Canal located in Lockland brought workers to that area who in turn built their homes in Wyoming. In 1851 with railroad service, residential subdivisions grew and Wyoming became an official village in 1874 with 600 residents. In 1951 the village became a city with 5,000 residents. Today, old-home lovers traveling down the wide tree-lined streets of Wyoming can relive much of this community’s early grandeur.

The Wyoming Civic Center is a hub of bowling, teenage activities and adult social programs. Many organizations such as the Junior Women’s Club, the Wyoming Women’s Club and Kiwanis use the center as a meeting place. There is an active Newcomers Group. 

The Wyoming Golf Club is a private 9-hole course with paddle tennis and swimming. Winton Woods features a public 18-hole golf course. Glenview golf course is located in nearby Glendale. There are other private country clubs: Kenwood, Clovernook and Maketewah, each about 15 minutes away. 

The Wyoming Recreation Center program provides a broad spectrum of activities, gymnasiums, skate park, athletic fields, playgrounds and day camps, as well as swimming pools, swim lessons and swim teams and exercise programs for all ages. 

The Wyoming Swim Club is available by membership. The Powel Crosley, Jr. YMCA is minutes away.  

Wyoming is home to  six parks, plus playgrounds and fields with baseball, soccer and football fields. There are also several trails for hikers and bikers to enjoy. 

The community hosts an annual Art Show in May. Concerts and outdoor movies are held on the Village Green and Civic Center during the summer. The annual May Fete is community festival with rides, games and fun. The Fourth of July celebration is a huge tradition with a parade, fireworks and a fun Muddy Pig race. The Fall Festival is held in October and features vendors along the streets, with food and crafts. Light Up Wyoming is held in December as is the One-Stop Shop held usually the  first Saturday in December.

Local Wyoming shops and restaurants are available in the village area. The Wyoming Pastry Shop was established in 1934 and has earned many local awards for their baked goods. There are several cafes and restaurants to enjoy – Half Day Cafe, Gabby’s Cafe, CWC The Restaurant, Tela Bar + Kitchen, Wyoming Community Coffee and Station Family + BBQ. Kenwood Towne Centre is about 15 minutes away and offers 100+ national brand stores as well as Nordstrom, Macy's and Dillard's department stores.

Vestiges of its leisurely horse and carriage days are evident in the many Victorian houses with spacious stables and gazebos in the gardens. All are hidden in the seclusion of ancient shade trees. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places is one district composed of 300 homes. In recent years, new homes have been added in transitional versions of good taste. But they still reflect the same prosperity, the same sense of well-being as those in older sections of the city. The beauty of Wyoming’s landscape, with its many hills and valleys, attracts people of all ages. At night, many high points offer a lighted-jewel panorama of the city that is a sight to behold. Residents share a glorious heritage and cultural advantages. Wyoming allows all this and more within minutes.

Wyoming

I-75 is five minutes away and downtown Cincinnati is about 20 minutes via the highway. Ronald Reagan Highway provides quick access to the east and west sides of town. Cincinnati buses serve Wyoming on a 30-minute schedule.

Cincinnati's Good Samaritan Hospital and Bethesda North are about 20 minutes' drive and six other major hospitals are only five minutes beyond that. A medical center is located on Chester Road.

The village of Woodlawn, with its peaceful, rustic setting, is a perfect example of how life was lived when America was young. Best of all, homeowners today can still capture a bit of that warmth and nostalgia. There are approximately 3,000 residents.

There is a municipal swimming pool as well as summer recreational program of knothole baseball, basketball, etc. Woodlawn has a recreational community center that features a large auditorium, fitness room and two gyms. There are local garden and social clubs.Glenwood Gardens features 335 acres of trails, formal gardens and prairies to explore along a one-mile paved trail and a 1.6 miles nature trail. Trillium Trails Park is run by the Hamilton County Park District. Highfield Discovery Garden has 12 acres of amazing gardens from frogs and toads, to a trolley garden to a butterfly garden! Adjoining Winton Woods has a public golf course, lake, stables, picnic areas and nature trails.

Except for a large discount store, there is limited local shopping in Woodlawn. Within 15 minutes is the Kenwood Towne Centre with over 100 stores and three department stores: Nordstrom, Macy's and Dillard's.

In the lovely "Mayview Forest" area, one finds historic houses so artistically designed that they seem to have grown there with the trees. Other neighborhoods have combined the charm and serenity of by-gone days with today's efficiency and pace. Here, both older and newer housing styles come together to form one of Cincinnati's proudest and most attractive communities. All neighborhoods are protectively zoned against encroaching industry. However, the interstate highway system provides easy access to jobs in nearby business districts.

Woodlawn

There is regular bus service on Route 4 (Springfield Pike) with frequent service during the rush hours. Woodlawn is one mile east of I-75 (to Dayton) and near I-275 (Circle Freeway) which connects with I-71 (to Columbus). Downtown Cincinnati is 20 minutes away.

'Bethesda North Hospital' –  a Level III Trauma Center –  is a 15-minute drive away, with well-used emergency room facilities. 'Jewish Hospital Kenwood' is located on Kenwood Road in Sycamore Township and features a state-of-the-art patient tower as well as a 24-hour emergency department. It also offers the region’s only adult Blood & Marrow Transplant Center. 

Other Cincinnati area hospitals, such as The Christ Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, University Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Medical Center are located within a 25-minute drive.

Evendale is one of Cincinnati’s suburban communities with single-family homes offering a wide variety of prices and architectural design.

Evendale has a community center with a full-time recreational director. There is a year-round arts and crafts program for adults. Winter time activities for youths include baton twirling, trampoline and a basketball league with teams beginning with third and fourth grade boys. Summer concerts are staged at the Founders Pavilion in the village. Evendale has a swimming pool with low-cost memberships. In addition, there is a sauna and exercise room. There are two tennis courts. Knothole baseball and soccer are available to children of all ages. General Electric cooperates fully with the village programs and extends to it the use of the GE Employees Park with its 9-hole golf course, which is used by the Evendale golf leagues. Two public golf courses are a short drive and nearby Sharon Woods affords many varied activities. Villagers enjoy all nature has to offer at The Griffin Family Nature Preserve and Gorman Heritage Farm.

Fifteen minutes to the east is the Kenwood Towne Centre. The Northgate Mall is approximately 25 minutes away.

The community has a neighborly spirit, with residents spending leisure time at the Evendale Recreation Center with its pool, work-out facilities and sports offerings. Nearby Sharon Woods offers an 18-hole golf course, lakes for fishing and spacious grounds for hiking and picnicking. Evendale’s sleek industrial buildings are excellent examples of modern design and innovation. Many skilled professionals not only enjoy a convenient career location, but live in the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods. The AeroHub Innovation District has begun development on 190 acres for advanced manufacturing and aerospace innovation and applied technologies.

Evendale

Access to I-75 is 5 minutes away and the drive to Cincinnati is about 20 minutes. Evendale is also about 5 minutes away from the Ronald Reagan Highway which crosses I-71 and I-275.

Lincoln Heights Day is an annual tradition for the community with a festival and parade. The village also hosts an annual Memorial Day celebration. Children enjoy many sporting opportunities through the local school system.

Tri-County Mall and other shopping opportunities in the Springdale area are 10 minutes away. The mall has ove 100 stores and is anchored with Macy’s, JC Penney’s, Dillard’s and Sears. Kenwood Towne Center is a 15-minute drive with over 200 stores including Nordstrom, Macy’s and Dillard’s. Glendale and Wyoming are a short drive away offering smaller boutique shops and restaurants. Many daily needs can be satisfied within the village of Lincoln Heights.

Located in the Mill Creek valley on northern Cincinnati, the Village of Lincoln Heights was the first African American self-governing community north of the Mason-Dixon Line. The community was established in 1923 and later incorporated into a village in 1939. The Wright Aeronautical plant where the B-29 bomber was manufactured lured many residents to the area in the 1940s. Songwriters, the Isley Brothers (Twist and Shout), are from Lincoln Heights.

Lincoln Heights

Interstate 75 is minutes away and easily transports cars south and north. I-275 and Ronald Reagan Expressway and within a 5-minute drive on I-75 for east and west connections. Lincoln Heights is a 15-minute drive to downtown Cincinnati. Cincinnati Metro buses service the area.
