Mercy Health - Anderson Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Anderson and Eastgate are the closest medical facilities. HealthSource of Ohio is located in New Richmond providing health-care services.

Ohio Township has 5,100 residents with approximately half of them residing in unincorporated areas. New Richmond is located within the township along the Ohio River. The village of New Richmond was settled in the late 1700s and became a village in 1828. It later became a hub for steamboat building.

Mercy Hospital Clermont in Batavia is 10 minutes from Amelia. Mercy Hospital Anderson is within 20 minutes. Cincinnati’s major hospitals (including Children’s Hospital Medical Center, University Hospital, TriHealth Bethesda North, TriHealth Good Samaritan and The Christ Hospital) are located within a 45-minute drive from Amelia.

Amelia was settled in 1809 with log cabins at its first homes. A sawmill was built around 1826 followed by the construction of several other mills. The area was hence called Milltown which turned into Milton. In 1836 the village was renamed Amelia in honor of Amelia Bowdoin, a popular tollgate operator on the Ohio Turnpike. Once an area where only farmers and artisans lived, the natural country charms of the village of Amelia are being rediscovered. Many have already invested in beautifully wooded building sites of fast growing value. There are 4,800 residents in the village.  You will find several large businesses in Amelia including: L3, TQL, American Modern Insurance, Milacron Plastics, to name a few. In 2019, Amelia residents voted to surrender village powers and become unincorporated areas as part of Pierce and Batavia Townships.

Fork Reservoir, the scenic East Fork River and nearby Ohio River hold appeal for fishermen, boaters, swimmers and campers. Artists can visit the picturesque Nature Preserve and Stonelick Valley with their easels. A YMCA is in nearby Batavia. There is a private swim club and four public golf courses within a 30-minute drive. One country club in Withamsville has an 18-hole golf course. All Little League sports are available. The community has several annual events including an Easter Egg Hunt, National Night Out, Christmas Parade and Citizen of the Year. Spencer Shank Memorial Park features a playground and dog park area. Jenny Lind Park is located just outside of the village. East Fork State Park is nearby and offers hiking, biking, fishing, swimming and other outdoor activities. The Mercy Health West Clermont HealthPlex in nearby Batavia features exercise equipment, group fitness classes, lap pool and basketball and tennis courts for its members.

Amelia features a Kroger Marketplace for convenient shopping. There are also a few local stores in town for daily needs. Major shopping is not more than a 15-minute drive to Eastgate Square, Eastgate Mall Crossing (Ashley Furniture), Villages of Eastgate Square and Jungle Jim’s International Market. Eastgate Mall offers three major department stores, several discount stores and some 90 other shops, restaurants and services. Anderson Township Towne Center is also a  20-minute drive and offers shopping and may restaurants.

With downtown Cincinnati about 30 minutes away, this carefully planned community has suddenly attained the status of a colorful new Cincinnati suburb. Amelia

Downtown Cincinnati is about 35 minutes driving time. The Circle Freeway (I-275) is a 10 -minute drive and provides access to any part of Hamilton County, I-71 to Columbus, and I-75 to Dayton. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is just 25 minutes away via I-275. I-471 makes this area very accessible to downtown Cincinnati. 125 bisects the village. Clermont County Regional Airport is located in nearby Batavia. Public transportation in Amelia is provided by Queen City Metro.

The nearest hospital is Clermont Mercy Hospital, approximately 10 minutes away and just outside of Batavia; Brown County Hospital is 15 miles away to the east.

East Fork State Park is just five minutes away from Bethel. It features a beautiful man-made lake and offers camping, picnicking, boating, swimming, horse trails and shelters that can be reserved for large parties. Burke Park is in the village of Bethel and has playground equipment, a shelter house and two cabins that are open for community events.

There is a small strip mall in Bethel, neighboring Georgetown has small strip malls, and it's a quick 15 minute drive to Cincinnati's Eastgate Mall and surrounding shopping district on State Route 32.

A great town with its own sense of pride and togetherness, Bethel was founded in 1798 by Obed Denham, the same man who founded the Bethel Baptist Church.

Bethel is just 30 minutes from Downtown Cincinnati. It is approximately a 10 minute drive to the town of Amelia, the nearest stop made by Queen City Metro, Cincinnati's public bus system. There are numerous state routes that can be taken out of Bethel to connect with Greater Cincinnati's interstate highway system.

Monroe Township has 7,800 residents. No municipalities are located in the township. The unincorporated community of Point Pleasant is located near the Ohio River and is the birthplace of U.S. President and Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant. This home is open for tours.

Fair Oaks Park offers a walking path and picnic shelter. East Fork Lake State Park is located just beyond the village’s northern borders and is one of Ohio’s largest state parks with 4,820 acres. The 2,160-acre lake offers boating and fishing. Annual regattas are held at the lake. Hunting is permitted in designated areas of the park. The 1,200-foot swimming beach is popular during the summer. There are many trails to explore whether hiking, biking or horseback riding.

One can drive New Richmond or Amelia to find local shops and restaurants for every day needs. A drive to Batavia, Eastgate and Anderson areas in Cincinnati offers more shopping opportunities with national brand stores and restaurants.

Homes of all price ranges and styles are found in Monroe Township. Newly built brick homes in subdivisions as well as homes on acreage are found in the area.

State routes 222, 232, 125,132 and 52 bisect the township. Interstate I-275 is the closest major highway.

Mercy Health - Anderson Hospital is located in the heart of the area on Five Mile Road. The 96-bed acute care unit serves the community with 24-hour Emergency Service, extensive outpatient services, diagnostic /rehabilitative treatments and a variety of surgical and medical procedures. The Five Mile and Beechmont Avenue area also has offices for general and specialty doctors including facilities for The Christ Hospital and TriHealth. Children’s Hospital Anderson is located in the township. There are several other fine Cincinnati hospitals within a 25-minute drive. Anderson residents are serviced by their own paramedic and emergency professionals.

Among rolling hills and unspoiled woodland lies Anderson Township, bounded by the Little Miami and Ohio River which helped shape its character. The community was founded in 1793 with its first settlement near the mouth of the Little Miami River. In the early 1800s, pioneers were scattered into settlements along the Little Miami and as time passed people lived up on the hill near Mt. Washington. Growth occurred with farming outposts at Forestville, Sweetwine, Fruit Hill and Cherry Grove. The township developed with suburban growth after World War II. With the completion of the Beechmont Levee, I-275 and I-471, residents could easily reach the various parts of Cincinnati and the area grew. Anderson Township now has the fourth highest population in  Hamilton County with 45,000 residents.

Year-round activities are available at the Lyons YMCA on Clough Pike and an adult education program provides many courses for hobbyists. There are 5 public and 2 private membership country club golf courses. Three private swim clubs have tennis courts. Public courts and a private indoor tennis club are located at Lunken Playfield. 

Sunlite Pool, the nation’s largest filtered pool, is public and offers season memberships. The Riverbend Music Center is an outdoor amphitheater that offers concerts during the warmer months and is located 10 minutes away. Marinas on the Ohio River are a 10-minute drive. 

The Anderson Center is a gathering place for residents to enjoy theater (including the Beechmont Players) and musical performances as well as other community events. 

Residents enjoy Party on the Plaza, an outdoor concert series during warmer months. The community celebrates July 4th with an annual Independence Day parade. Greater Anderson Days occurs each July and attendees enjoy this festival’s rides and fireworks. There is also a yearly Jack O’Lantern Walk in late October and tree-lighting ceremony in December. 

School sports are supplemented with an excellent league system providing boys and girls with baseball, basketball, soccer and football. 

Anderson loves its green spaces! The Anderson Park District oversees more than 500 park acres. The 23-acre Nagle Road Park has soccer and baseball fields, jogging trails, and recreational facilities. Woodland Mound Park, with over 1500 acres, offers a golf course, horse back riding and picnic facilities, is only five minutes away. Veteran’s Park has 12 acres and features a playground designed with the physically challenged child in mind. This park has a shelter, quarter-mile jogging trail that encircles the perimeter of the park as well as a baseball diamond, soccer fields and basketball court. Riverside Park has 46 acres with 6 ball diamonds, two turf fields, hiking trail and playground. Laverty Park has a wooded area, hiker/biker trail, playground and small basketball court and small ball diamond within its nine acres. Kellogg Park has almost  22 acres and has a playground, soccer fields, picnic shelter as well as dog field. Johnson Hills Park has 139 acres with rolling hills and woods. Clear Creek Park has 127 acres near the Little Miami River and office 23 sports fields and a pavilion. The park also has six pickle-ball courts. Beech Acres Park has a children’s playground, water play area, shelters, amphitheater, athletic fields, volleyball and basketball courts, skatepark as well as a hike/bike trail. This park also hosts summer concerts, A Fair of the Arts and Greater Anderson Days. Juilfs Park has 26 acres. There is a playground (with a tricycle track and pretend gas pumps) as well as a hike/bike trail around the perimeter of this park. Two sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, three ball diamonds, soccer fields, three tennis courts as well as picnic tables and two shelters are also found in the park. 

There are several walking/biking trails to enjoy: the Ohio River Trail and Little Miami Scenic Trail. The Five Mile Trail connects the Turpin High School are with Anderson Towne Center, the Beechmont business district and Five Mile Road.

Anderson Towne Center boasts having one of the largest Kroger stores in the nation, as well as many 25+ retail specialty shops and restaurants. Macy’s is an anchor store. Additionally, there are numerous strip centers. Eastgate Mall and Jungle Jim’s are approximately 10 minutes away. Along Beechmont Avenue, there many local and national brand stores and restaurants. Residents also enjoy supporting neighborhood businesses along Salem Road and Clough Pike.

While retaining much of the flavor of its recent rural past, Anderson is today one of Greater Cincinnati’s fastest growing areas. The township offers excellent housing opportunities and value. New homes can be found in a variety of styles, settings, and prices, from the moderately priced to luxury estates. Many of the area’s most prestigious builders have been attracted to Anderson Township, recognizing the uniqueness of its numerous attributes. Anderson Township

The Circle Freeway (I-275) affords access to Interstates 71, 75 and 74 and to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in 20 minutes. Also I-471 is readily accessible to downtown Cincinnati in 15 minutes. The Beechmont Levee connects many commuters to the city via Columbia Parkway. Lunken Municipal Airport is located at the end of this levee. State Highway 32 serves the northern portion of the township and becomes the Appalachian Highway in Clermont County. State Highway 125 (Beechmont Avenue) bisects the township and serves as a major road for the community. US 52 (Kellogg Avenue) is a national highway that follows along the Ohio River. Queen City Metro bus service has two routes to downtown plus the “Sun Run,” providing 25-minute express service. Several marinas are located within five miles of the township.

New Richmond has five parks: Susanna Park, Hausserman Park, Rose Vesper Park, Union Square Park and Plum Street Park as we as the August Street Boat Launch and a the Village Bandstand. The yearly River Arts Festival is held in New Richmond. In August, River Days is celebrated in New Richmond and in December there is an annual River Village Christmas weekend event.
