The hospitals are St. Elizabeth Edgewood/Crestview Hills is located nearby and is the first and only regional healthcare facility to become a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is a joint venture with St. Elizabeth an offers outpatient services. The HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center has specialized programs with inpatient and outpatient services. Within a half-hour drive, there are other Cincinnati hospitals available including The Christ Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, The Jewish Hospital, University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Bethesda North Hospital.

Crestview Hills was originally part of the Old Buffalo Trail to Big Bone Lick. The area was settled around 1785 prospered henceforth. In the 1920s, residential development was established and homes were constructed. Following WWII, even more new homes were built.

Northern Kentucky

St. Elizabeth Medical Center South is on Dudley Pike in Edgewood. Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital Northern Kentucky is located in Edgewood and provides post-acute care. St. Elizabeth North in Covington and St. Elizabeth West in Florence are only 10-15 minutes away on I-75. Children’s Hospital Medical Center is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. EMS services are provided by the city.

Edgewood, one of Northern Kentucky’s largest suburbs, has an appealing All-American quality with its 9,400 residents. Edgewood was incorporated in 1948. In 1968, it merged with Summit Hills Heights and Pius Heights.

Summit Hills Country Club, Brookwood Swim Club and Five Seasons Sports Club are within the area. Kenton County Golf Course, a public facility, is nearby. This city’s motto is: “Where every day is a walk in the park”  and Edgewood boasts two large parks: Presidents Park and Freedom Park. Presidents Park has 20 sprawling acres and provides a variety of youth activities and organized sports as well as tennis, volleyball and picnicking facilities. You can also enjoy the presidential walkway at this park. Freedom Park features volleyball and basketball courts, a playground, baseball and soccer fields, a picnic shelter as well as two memorials: one for 9/11 and a veteran’s memorial. Just outside of city limits is the Doe Run Lake Park and Kenton County Public Park. Edgewood hosts several community events throughout the year include a Fourth of July parade and concerts, many outdoor park concerts, Shakespeare in the park, a Halloween event and a Luminary Night in December.

Shopping in Edgewood is convenient and varied. Crestview Hills Town Center features a Dillard’s department store and over 70 other retail stores and restaurants. Heritage International offers a few more shopping options. The Florence Mall and downtown Cincinnati are within 10 minutes. Other major shopping areas are within easy driving distance.

Edgewood

St. Elizabeth West is on Turfway Road in Florence. St. Elizabeth South is on Dudley Road in Edgewood. Hospitals are 10 minutes from Erlanger. There is also an Erlanger Rescue Squad available through the Erlanger Police. Children's Hospital is located in Cincinnati.

Erlanger is third-largest city in Kenton County with a population of 18,000+ residents. The area was settled around 1807 with a log cabin. The community grew through time and was originally called Timberlake, then Greenwood and Silver Lake. The city was finally named after the Parisian family bank of Emile d’Erlanger that helped finance the town’s development.

Activities for youths include little league baseball, knothole baseball, and pee wee football. Roller skating and bowling establishments are in the area. Other activities convenient to the area are golf, tennis, and dancing. The public library is on Dixie Highway. The Silver Lake Recreation Center offers fitness and exercise equipment, gymnastics, youth programs, senior programs and an aquatic center. 

There are 12 parks in Erlanger: 'Center Street  and Locust Parks' are across the street from each other and  offer a basketball courts and play areas. The 'Railroad Depot Park' is the home of the Erlanger Historical Society and the Depot Museum. Also find a play areas, grass field and a picnic shelter there. 'Flagship Park' has a climbing wall volleyball court, play areas, unpaved walking trails, grassy areas, picnic shelter and  a fishing pond. 'Stetter Park' has a basketball court, swings and a grassy field. 'Locust Street and Mistry Creek Park' both feature a basketball court and swings. 'Rainbow Park' offers a basketball court, picnic area, practice soccer field,and a climbing center. 'Sherbourne Park' has a climbing area and swings. 'Silver Lake Park' has two basketball courts, play areas, tennis courts, sand volleyball court, soccer and baseball fields, picnic areas and is located near the Silverlake Rec Center.  'Spring Valley Park' has a walking/bike path, baseball and soccer field, play area and is near the Nature Park. 'Maywood Park' features a basketball court. 'The Glades of Erlanger Park' is a nature trail park.Erlanger hosts quite a few community events throughout the year including Valentine’s Day, Easter, Heritage Day, Halloween and Christmas. There are also many events throughout the warmer months including concerts.

There are several shopping centers in the area including Crestview Hills Town Center in neighboring Edgewood, which offers more than a dozen restaurants and 50+ retailers. The spacious Florence Mall, with two-level shopping, offers approximately 125 stores. Restaurants are only a few minutes away.

Erlanger is called “The Friendship City” and  as one of the older communities in the area, it is predominately a residential area with many old family businesses and new enterprises lining the two major highways running through the city. Older homes of all sizes and styles can be found in this community. Also, new development is still available offering a variety of home styles.

Erlanger

Erlanger is situated in the middle of the Northern Kentucky area bordering on I-75 and I-275. T.A.N.K. buses serve Erlanger at about 20-minute intervals. Donaldson Road leads off Dixie Highway to the I-75 interchange. Driving time to Cincinnati is about 15 minutes. The Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport is is located in Hebron, Kentucky  and is a short drive away.

Elsmere was first settled in 1885 and was originally known as South Erlanger. Incorporated as the City of Elsmere in 1896, it sits on the border of Boone and Kenton County between Erlanger and Florence.  There are 8,400 residents and the city is named after Elsmere Avenue in Norwood, Ohio – the hometown of one of its founders.

Elsmere

This small, desirable community has long been known as one of Northern Kentucky’s premier neighborhoods. It was established as a town in 1930 and is a Northern Kentucky “garden spot”. Lakeside Park is primarily residential with 2,700 residents and only three business sites.

Lakeside Park is close to private Kenton County swim clubs and country clubs, public golf courses and parks. The private Five Seasons Country Club offers indoor/outdoor tennis and swimming, as well as an indoor/outdoor jogging and fitness track. The community hosts events at nearby Ft. Mitchell Park as well as the City Building.

The Crestview Hills Town Center is located in this area. A 10-15 minute drive will place you in the major shopping areas of Cincinnati or the Florence Mall.

As the name suggests, there are many lakes in the area, and homes have been built to take advantage of the views. Through the years Lakeside Park has experienced growth, but has retained its strictly residential character and park-like look.
