Nearly 400 acres of park and recreation areas cover Deerfield Township with six busy parks offering amenities for everyone. There are athletic fields, picnic shelters, a fishing lake, a dog run, walking trails, playgrounds and a Veterans Memorial Garden. Parks include: Fleckensterin, Kingswood Park, Carter Park, Cottell Park Deerfield Honor Veterans Park, Roberts Park, Schappacher Park, as well as several community pocket parks. Deerfield Township residents enjoy movies in the park during the summer.
Just minutes away are Paramount’s Kings Island Amusement Park and numerous other community activities making Deerfield as busy as you want it to be. Also close by in Mason, Ohio is the annual Western & Southern Open featuring the best tennis players from around the world.
The community arts series is popular and residents enjoy Shakespeare in the Park, orchestras and other arts. There is an annual tree-lighting ceremony, FallFair Arts Festival, Touch-A-Truck, and community book swap. If gardening is of interest, a community garden plot is available at Kingswood Park.
There are numerous athletic groups, from slow pitch baseball, soccer and your baseball. Deerfield Township sponsors the Powder Keg 5k Trail Run, Panerathon 10k Run and 5k Walk/Run as well as a Thanksgiving Race.
