Goshen residents, like many communities near the I-275 beltway surrounding Cincinnati’s northern suburbs, is slowly changing its more rural footprint with the growing residential and retail construction beginning to pick up pace. Just over 13, 000 residents live in the gently rolling hills of the unincorporated area tucked midway between Milford and Blanchester. German and English settlers, who followed the Ohio River west after the end of the American Revolutionary War, founded the community in 1799.
Transportation
Rt. 28 and St. Rts 132 and 48 are the primary access roads into Goshen. The Greater Cincinnati Airport is about a 40-minute drive.
Hospitals
The Goshen Life Squad provides EMS services to the township. Bethesda North Hospital, a short 15-minute drive from the township, is now the fourth largest hospital in Cincinnati and only one of two adult trauma centers in the region. Mercy Hospital Anderson is 30 minutes to the east; Children’s Hospital Medical Center and other core Cincinnati hospitals are a 40-minute drive.
Shopping
Life’s daily necessities can be found, but more extensive shopping trips will need a visit to nearby Eastgate Mall or Kenwood Towne Centre shopping malls.
Recreation
Baseball is big and most local teams play at the John Hessler Baseball Park. A newly opened Goshen Public Library acts as a busy community hub. 3 18-hole golf courses (Eagles Nest Country Club Golf, Hickory Woods and O’Bannon Creek Golf Club) vie for golfers attention. Stonelick State Park, originally created to provide a wildlife area for Ohio's sportsmen, offers a quiet retreat for visitors. The still waters of the lake and stately woodlands provide the setting for a host of outdoor recreational pursuits with hunting, fishing, and camping the most used facilities at the park. The area’s location offers easy access to many of Greater Cincinnati’s sports, cultural and other entertainments.
