Summary
Today’s Pleasant Ridge, however, is a community of block parties, neighborhood clubs, and citizens involved in various activities. Home buyers can find an assortment of Tudors to choose from. Many of the wide, winding streets have spacious old frame houses almost hidden by the ancient trees that surround them. The main street in Pleasant Ridge – Montgomery Road – leads to the Ronald Reagan Highway, I-71, I-75 and I-275 expressways. Driving time to downtown Cincinnati is about 10 minutes. Queen City Metro buses serve Pleasant Ridge at about 15-minute intervals.
Hospitals

Jewish Kenwood - Mercy Hospital is conveniently located in Sycamore Township and is only a 10-minute drive. This hospital features a state-of-the-art patient tower as well as a 24-hour emergency department. It is the region’s only adult Blood & Marrow Transplant Center. Bethesda North Hospital, a Level III Trauma Center, is located in Montgomery and is a 15-minute drive away.

Mercy Health - Rookwood Medical Hospital Center is located along I-71 in nearby Hyde Park and is a state-of-the-art facility with an emergency department as well as primary care offices. The area’s largest teaching hospital, the University Hospital, is 10 minutes away. Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Good Samaritan and The Christ Hospital are all located within a 10-12 minute drive.

Shopping
Along Montgomery Road are many shops and cafes to enjoy. The Loving Hut features Asian-style, vegan meals. Nine Giant Brewing is a local brewery and pub.The Coffee Exchange takes care of your caffeine needs and is a wonderful place to relax and read from their many books housed there. Everybody’s Records is the place for LP or DVD searches and has been serving music lovers for decades. These are just a few of many local stores and restaurants to patronize. Pleasant Ridge is within 10 minutes of Kenwood Towne Centre with three large department stores and about 100 smaller shops and restaurants. Sycamore Square in Kenwood has even more national branded stores.

Pleasant Ridge Community Center has a fitness room, gym, swimming, tennis, nature study and other recreational programs supervised by the Cincinnati Recreation Department. Nearby Losantiville Country Club is private and features an 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts and a club house with dining options. Avon Fields, 10-minutes away, is a public, 18-hole course. Kenwood Country Club, which is private, has two 18-hole golf courses and is about 10-minutes away.

Pleasant Ridge Park is a kid’s dream! Play on the “castle”, with all of its cubby holes and climbing structures. This park has baseball and soccer fields and tennis courts. The outdoor deep-water pool and wading pool keep residents cool and refreshed during summer. Nearby in Amberley Village is French Park with many picnic areas as well as trails to enjoy and explore.
