The historic Harriet Beecher Stowe House is located in Walnut Hills and the neighborhood played an important part in the Underground Railroad with Ms. Stowe’s involvement. The African-American Chamber of Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky, Easter Seals and United Way are located in the neighborhood.
Other Cincinnati area hospitals, such as The Christ Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Medical Center are located within a 10-minute drive. Many uptown groups of doctor’s offices are also within easy access. One of the most advanced medical facilities in the country for research is located within the University Hospital complex, located in nearby Avondale.
Local shopping is available along Madison Road from Walnut Hills through to Oakley. Hyde Park Square, only minutes away, features excellent specialty shops, restaurants and banks.
