Union Township is located in the central part of Warren County and was established in 1815. It has almost 5,000 residents with approximately half living in the unincorporated parts of the township. The rest reside in the Village of South Lebanon. It has been rated as a top community by Cincy Magazine.
There are many newer homes in a variety of price ranges found in Union Township. One also finds older homes, with several pre-dating 1910 as well as land lots available for sale in the area.
Interstate 71 crosses the township as well as US Route 48 and 42. Travelers use either the Greater Cincinnati International Airport (50-minute drive south) or the Dayton International Airport (45-minute drive north.) The Lebanon-Warren County Airport is located nearby.
Union Township has many area hospitals available including TriHealth’s Bethesda Medical Center at Arrow Springs in Lebanon, Bethesda Butler Hospital in Hamilton, Children’s Medical Center of Dayton, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, UC West Chester Hospital, Miami Valley Hospital, Atrium Medical Center, Clinton Memorial Hospital, Kettering Hospital and Sycamore Medical Center also located in Kettering. The township has its own fire rescue department providing emergency care.
The iconic Golden Lamb Inn, hotel and restaurant, was established in 1803 and is the oldest inn in Ohio. It is located in downtown Lebanon which is known for quaint shops and is the site of the yearly Christmas Horse Drawn Carriage Parade. Lebanon is also the home to a Kroger Marketplace and one of Walmart’s largest Superstores. Kohls and Target are located close by as well as Lowes, Home Depot, Rural King and Sinclair Community College.
Union Township has two parks, the Williams H. Hackman Park and Williard E. Spicer Memorial Park. Kings Island Amusement Park and The Beach Waterpark are located nearby. The TPC River’ Bend golf course is located in the region.
Situated half way between Cincinnati and Dayton, Union Township offers the charm of small-town living with all the big city amenities a short drive away. The Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Opera and Ballet, the University of Dayton and the University of Cincinnati are convenient for Union Township residents.
