Sharonville became a city in 1962 and now has over 13,500 residents. The community is proud to be home to Sharon Woods with its 730 acres. It's Hamilton County's oldest park and a popular place to enjoy nature and explore.
Sharonville is an appealing place to live. With many older homes lovingly cared for, there are also new homes constructed in an assortment of styles. From two-story homes to condominiums, Sharonville offers it all. Residents enjoy top-notch community services including a vibrant community center and an aquatic center for warmer months. The Sharonville Convention Center boasts 65,000 square feet with state-of-the art features for trade shows and other events. For those who enjoy the arts, the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center is home to local arts programs including music, dance, theater and more. Nearby Sharon Woods has forested hills, vast lake for fishing, 18-holes of golf, camping and picnic areas, baseball diamonds and nature trails.
Reading Road, through the center of town, is U.S. 42. Within a 5-minute drive is I-75 (north and south) and Circle Freeway I-275 (east and west). I-71 and the Ronald Reagan Highway are about 10 minutes away.
Tri-Health Evendale Hospital is minutes away and offers procedural services. Jewish Hospital Mercy Health on Kenwood Road is 20 minutes away. This hospital features a state-of-the-art patient tower as well as a 24-hour emergency department. It also offers the region’s only adult Blood & Marrow Transplant Center. Bethesda North Hospital – a Level III Trauma Center – is located on Montgomery Road and is about 15-minutes away. This full-service hospital has well-used emergency room facilities that are the third busiest in Greater Cincinnati. Mercy Health Fairfield Hospital South is located Mack Road and is 20 minutes away.
Other Cincinnati area hospitals, such as The Christ Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, University Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Medical Center are located within a 25-minute drive.
Downtown "historic" Sharonville along Reading Road and Main Street has a quaint look with local shops and restaurants. Many retail outlets for convenience shopping are located along Reading Road. Chester Road offers restaurants, motels, small shops and services. Additional stores and restaurants are found along E. Kemper Road. For the ultimate in wide selections and complete shopping enjoyment, there are several large malls – Tri-County Mall and Kenwood Towne Centre. They are just 15 minutes away with all major department stores and hundreds of stores.
The Root Beer Stand on Reading Road has been in business since 1957. It's a "must try" place for its homemade root beer and tasty hot dogs and burgers. Don't dilly dally – the stand is only open during warmer months.
Sharon Woods, at the northern edge of Sharonville, consists of 730 acres and has the following facilities: public 18-hole golf course, baseball diamond, lakeside lodge and museum, youth camp area, boating, fishing, abundant picnic areas and nature trails.
Other parks include Gorman, Gower, Orchard, Upper Grove, Patriot Pointe and Twin Creek Preserve. Trammel Fossil Park has fossils from the Ordovician Period from 440 million years ago.
The Sharonville Community Center has many fun things to do. An indoor track, tennis courts and gym, outdoor pools, fitness center are sure to tempt someone to have a membership. There are also adult arts-and-crafts programs.
The Aquatic Center is open seasonally and is membership based. Pools include a family play pool, plunge pool and competitive pool. The Sharonville Fitness Center is a great place to work out. This membership-based center has plenty of exercise equipment and group exercise programs. The Queen City Racquet & Fitness Club has indoor and outdoor tennis courts along with a fitness facility, racquetball courts and heated outdoor pool.
Little League baseball, football, soccer and basketball are available on a planned basis. Kemper Road Park has baseball, soccer and football fields with 2 of the 4 fields lighted for evening use. Berke Soccer Complex features four soccer fields. There are many adult sports programs available from basketball, tennis, flag football, volleyball, pickle ball and more.
The Sharonville Convention Center hosts many events throughout the year – from reptile shows, baby expos, quilting expos and gem shows – to name a few.
The Sharonville Cultural Arts Center offers a children’s theater as well as two theater troupes who perform at their 140-seat theater and an art gallery.
