At its founding in 1852 Pierce Township took its name from then President Franklin Pierce. Located in central Clermont County between Withamsville and Amelia mainly along St. Rt. 125,12, 000 residents call this 23-square-mile township home. Pierce Township is an area of contrasts from the lush residential sites at the Legendary Run development to the rural farmhouses standing surrounded by small farms. The building boom of the 1980s and suburban sprawl from neighboring Anderson Township helped change this township. New neighborhoods are springing up overnight because of the convenience to Cincinnati’s amenities with the delights of suburban living.
20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, Pierce Township is within easy reach of the area’s major expressways with I-275 seven minutes away, and I-71 about 25 minutes. St. Rt. 125 is the primary access road through the township. Two small airports, Clermont County Airport, and Lunken Airport serve the area’s needs. The Greater Cincinnati International Airport is a 25-minute drive. Queen City Metro provides bus service through the township.
Pierce Township Fire and EMS serves the residents of this growing township. Nearby hospitals Mercy Hospital Anderson and Mercy Hospital Clermont provide quality healthcare close to home.
Daily needs are easily met in this growing community with the Anderson Township Centre. There are many stores located throughout Beechmont Avenue. The upscale Kenwood Towne Centre is just minutes away.
Pierce Township is ideally situated to keep you busy outdoors. Two golf courses, Legendary Run and Royal Oak are located with in the township. The Pierce Township Park on Locust Corner offers nature and paved walking trails, ball fields, and picnicking and playground space. Nearby Groh Park in Amelia offers nature trails and a planned skate park while Sycamore Park along the banks of the East Fork River offers picnic and ball fields. East Fork State Park, one of Ohio’s largest parks, offers an even greater diversity of recreational opportunities including hiking and bridle trails, mountain bike and swimming. And it’s mere minutes to the Ohio River to do a little boating, fishing or just watching the river traffic go by.
