London in Madison County is located 25 miles southwest of Columbus, Ohio. It was established in 1811 and has a population of almost 10,000 residents. London serves as the county seat for Madison County. Its population exploded in the 1900s when Columbus residents sought to move towards a more rural community. Many residents today work in Columbus. A note of fame: The London water tower, fire department and high school were featured in a Nike commercial (called Find Your Greatness) that promoted the 2012 Olympics.
London features tree-lined streets with beautiful Victorian homes. One also finds farm homes with acreage as well as newer homes and condos on smaller lots. From smaller homes to larger residences, London has them all.
London is located off State Routes 42 and 38 and is situated between I-70 and I-71.
Madison Health hospital is located in London. Twenty five miles away, Columbus features many fine hospitals including Riverside Methodist Hospital, Grant Medical Center and The Ohio State University Waxner Medical Center as well as the Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Downtown London has many local shops and restaurants to frequent and enjoy. The quaint town feeling makeS shopping fun.
The Madison County Fair is held every year in July. Residents also enjoy the Madison Lake State Park, Rails to Trails paths and the Bid Darby Creek. The town hosts Rib and Jazz Festival in August and a Strawberry Festival in June. The Visual Arts Guild and Gallery on High showcase arts from beginners to pros. London is also home to the OSU Molly Caren Center which holds the nation’s largest agricultural trade show.
