Introduction

The City of Hillsboro has 6,600 residents. Founded in 1807, the area grew rapidly during the mid 1800s since it was a stop for two separate railroad lines. The town area was the center for its agricultural trade and most of the town’s businesses such as flour and lumber, supported the farmers in the near countryside.

Shaffer Park has baseball fields and leagues for those who play this sport. Rocky Fork State Park offers boating on is 2,080-acre lake as well as fishing, hiking and picnicking. Hillsboro has a cinema in town.
