Community Information


The village of Casstown is located in Miami County. The population is under 300 residents. The village is named after Lewis Cass, a U.S. senator from Michigan who was also an 1848 presidential candidate.


The village was the home to writer and poet Thomas Harbaugh, a popular writer in the 1800s. A former Casstown school located in the village is now privately owned.


Casstown is located off of Routes 55 and 589. The closest interstate highway is I-75. The Dayton International Airport located in Dayton, Ohio is nearest airport.


The Upper Valley Medical Center and Miami Valley Hospital in Troy service the area. Wilson Memorial Hospital is located in Sidney to the south.


Residents head to Troy for shopping where there are many local businesses and shops.


Miami County has over 15 parks. Nearby Troy has 10 neighborhood parks. The Miami Shores Golf Course is located in Troy. The annual Miami County Fair is also located in Troy.
