Forest Park has four medical clinics and Mercy South Hospital one mile to the north of the city, providing general and specialized care to the area. Mercy Franciscan Hospital - Mt. Airy is located 10 minutes away with most other Cincinnati hospitals located within a 25-minute drive of the community.

Mercy Health Fairfield is the area's closest hospital, within a five minute drive. Cincinnati Children's Fairfield is also a short drive away. TriHealth Bethesda Butler Hospital is about a 15-minute drive. University, Good Samaritan, Christ Hospital, Children's Hospital Medical Center and other area hospitals are 25-30 minutes away. An excellent life squad and ambulance services are readily available.

The community was originally called the "Farms"  and was the site of the fifth Cincinnati Homearama in the mid 1960s.

The Pleasant Run Farm area has a very active Civic Association that offers supervised sports programs, dances, golf, bowling leagues and a private swim club. 'Pleasant Run Recreational Center' borders Pleasant Run Farms on the north, offering an 18-hole golf course, tennis and swimming. 'Clifford George Park' on Mill Road features two baseball fields, a batting cage and two soccer fields. 'Germania Park' is located on the south and is a great place to enjoy events like the annual Oktoberfest. 'Winton Woods', a 2000-acre park, is nearby and available for horseback riding, golf, boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking and camping. Nearby are tennis, racquetball clubs, 2 YMCA's, movies and restaurants.

The Promenade Shopping Center has a variety of stores to take care of everyday needs. There are three major shopping areas: Tri-County which is 5 miles east and Northgate which is 5 miles west and Kenwood Towne Centre within a 15 minute drive. These shopping centers are enclosed malls and have a large variety of designer shops, movies and restaurants. There are also a number of small unique shopping areas nearby.

Since that time, nearly 1,200 attractive, well-designed homes have been added and many border on private, "greenbelt" property. The open space of over 60 acres of "greenbelt" land lends a special quality of life to its residents. Many of the dedicated homeowners belong to the popular Civic Association which maintains the swim club and is responsible for both sporting and recreational activities. Country-like qualities, public-spirited citizens, and easy access to all parts of the Cincinnati area make this unique community a prime attraction.

Pleasant Run

Queen City Metro offers services from Greenhills and Tri-County. There is also the business Sun Run from Promenade Shopping Center. Within 5 minutes is I-275 with connections to l-75, I-71 and I-74. Downtown Cincinnati is about a 30-minute drive.

Mercy Fairfield Hospital is located on Mack Road in neighboring Fairfield and is a 5-10 minute drive for Springdale residents. I-275 east makes Bethesda North TriHealth Hospital easily accessible within 20 minutes and Mercy Hospital North in Hamilton is also approximately 20 minutes away. Cincinnati’s other fine hospitals, including the Children’s Hospital Medical Center, are approximately 25–30 minutes to the south.

The area was first known for its key road – Springfield Pike – also known as the “Great Road” which transported settlers to their new farms. In 1839 Springdale became a village and in 1971 was known as the City of Springdale. There’s been a sense of progress in the air in Springdale for its residents and businesses throughout the years.

The Springdale Community Center (72,000 square feet on 18 acres) is the heart of activity for Springdale residents, offering an amphitheater, swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball courts, sand volleyball courts, indoor walking track, gym, organized sports for children and adults, a sauna and Nautilus equipment. Senior citizens, women’s clubs, Jaycees and many other community groups and organizations meet regularly at the center, making it easy for the newcomer to make new friends in the community. 

There are six parks in Springdale with fields, picnic areas and playgrounds. Sharon Woods and Winton Woods are county parks with picnic, camping, golfing and other recreational facilities, are located about 10 minutes away. Glenview, a 27-hole city golf course, borders Glendale. The Crosley and Gross YMCA’s are 15 minutes away. 

Springdale 18 Cinemas is great place to see a movie. Roller skating and ice skating rinks are 5-10 minutes from the city. 

During warmer months, the farmer’s market is open weekly at Springdale Town Center.

There are many great places to shop in or near Springdale with over four million square feet of retail space! Springdale Town Center  is located in the heart of Springdale at Springfield Pike and Kemper Road and features convenient stores such as a florist, bakery, pet salon and pharmacy. There are discount stores, Costco, Target, as well as an abundance of specialty shops, furniture stores, day and night banks and automobile dealerships. Kenwood Towne Centre, complete with designer shops and anchors that include Nordstrom, Macy’s and Dillard’s, is within 15 minutes. Hotel/motel facilities and many fine restaurants can be found locally.

You’ll find neighborhoods of older and newly built homes in Springdale. The 2019 Citirama home show took place at the Springrose subdivision  – a 50-lot community. Springdale residents are proud of their fine city infrastructure services. Many well-known companies call Springdale home including Macy’s Corporate Services, Humana, the Kroger Company, Proctor and Gamble and General Electric Engine Services, to name a few. Plans have been carefully worked out to see that industrial and residential growth has been orderly.

Springdale

The intersection of I-75 and I-275 is nearby. I-75 runs to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to the south; I-275 connects with I-74 to the west and I-71 to the east. The Ohio Bus Lines and Queen City Metro Bus service serve Springdale with reliable schedules, more frequent, of course, during the rush hours.

Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital is located on Mack Road and has been ranked as a national top 10 community hospital as well as among the Top 100 of overall hospitals. Mercy Health also services the community with The Heart Institute and Orthopedics, Sports Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy. McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital (TriHealth) is located in nearby Oxford. Cincinnati Children’s Fairfield is located on Mack Road and provides pediatric care. Bethesda Butler Hospital is located in nearby Hamilton.

Settlers came to the Fairfield area in 1794 following the Symmes (or Miami) Purchase. US Route 127 and SR 4 began as bridle paths. With the construction of the Miami and Erie Canal along and the railroad, the community grew. The Fairfield area had pockets known as Symmes Corner, Jones Station, Furmandale and Fairplay. Just 18 miles north of Cincinnati, Fairfield became a successful blend of industrial and residential development. The city of Fairfield was incorporated in 1955 and has now boasts almost 42,000 residents and more than 1,200 businesses.

The city has over 20 community parks to enjoy with athletic fields, hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, tennis and volley ball courts, and fitness areas. Fairfield Community Recreation Center, owned by the city of Fairfield, offers golf, a swimming pool, tennis and a private banquet room available for rental. The  City of Fairfield Aquatic Center has an eight-lane lap pool as well as many water play areas. A variety of sports groups are available for both youths and adults. The city operates two golf courses at Fairfield Greens South Trace and Fairfield Greens North Trace. The local YMCA provides swimming, baseball and other activities. Hueston Woods State Park is about a 35-minute drive and offers a lake and miles of trails along with boating and fishing opportunities. The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields is a multi-field complex for tournament play for the disabled. 

The Fairfield Community Arts Center is located in the heart of the city and hosts many cultural and arts events. Residents enjoy concerts, plays and other performances throughout the year. 

The city has a weekly Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays during warmer months at the Village Green. 

Fairfield hosts many annual events: Light Up Fairfield (December), Fine Art Fair (June), Groovin’ on the Green (May - August), Red White Kaboom (July), Blues and BBQ, to name a few. 

The proximity to Cincinnati allows the Fairfield residents to enjoy the many cultural and sporting events available there.

A variety of small shops are available as well as the major grocery chain stores for your shopping pleasure. Bridgewater Falls, a lifestyle shopping center, offers many specialty shops and restaurants. Northgate Mall is a short drive away. Several smaller centers - Hick’s Manor, Fair Plaza, Village Green, and Symmes Center are also available for shopping convenience. Kenwood Towne Centre located in Sycamore Township, is a 15-minute drive and features 100s of brand-name stores as well as Nordstrom, Macy's and Dilliard's. 

Jungle Jim’s International Market is a food lover’s paradise with numerous departments featuring food and beverages from all over the world. For those who enjoy fresh produce, the Village Green Farmers Market is open April through October at the Village Green Park. 

For those who love to shop for antiques, the Ohio Valley Antique Mall is located off State Route 4 and has over 85,000 square feet of space. Over 500 vendors will tempt you with their collectibles and vintage pieces.

Large one and two-story homes are plentiful and multiple-dwelling units offer condominium living in a park-like setting. There are also a number of custom designs on lovely landscaped grounds that feature incredible extras. Fairfield is ideally situated for highway transportation with two major highways (State Route 4 and Bypass 4) and I-275 just south of the city limits giving access to major cities north and south on I-71 and I-75. The Butler County Regional Airport is located in nearby Hamilton.

The Forest Park Recreation Commission administers a full summer recreation program as well as eleven public parks and other recreation sites, such as playgrounds and athletic fields. Private recreational resources include a tennis club, racquetball club, gymnastics center, swim club, water amusement park, an indoor soccer club and various fitness centers. Adjoining Forest Park is Winton Woods, a 2100 acre county park, featuring fishing, camping, boating, athletic trails and an 18-hole golf course. Two additional municipal golf courses are also located in neighboring communities of Forest Park. One of these courses, Glenview, was the site of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship Tournament. The Powell Crosley YMCA on Winton Road offers year-round activities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
