Although there are no hospitals in Yellow Springs, Greene Memorial Hospital is located a short distance away in Xenia. Yellow Springs does, however, include both traditional and holistic doctors' offices.

Dayton, OH

The Greene County Memorial Hospital is located in Xenia. Greene County Memorial is a 210 bed general, not for profit hospital.

Xenia is well known for its summer performances of the outdoor drama Blue Jacket. Blue Jacket is the story of the Shawnee Indians' struggle for peace in 18th century Ohio. Shawnee Park is the site of concerts, picnics, festivals, quiet walks, even fishing. For golf enthusiasts, there are two public courses in Xenia, Sebastian Hills Golf Club and WGC Golf Course. Sugar Valley Country Club is also located in Xenia. Popular biking and hiking trails through Xenia include the recently completed 10-mile portion of the North Country National Scenic Trail between Xenia and Yellow Springs. The Little Miami Scenic Trail takes you by the Spring Valley wildlife area, one of the best bird watching spots in Ohio. Xenia was named 'Trail Town USA' by the American Hiking Association.

Strip malls, fast food restaurants and new shops are springing up all over the city. Located ten minutes away from Xenia, the Mall at Fairfield Commons contains five department stores and 130 franchise clothing, shoe and specialty stores. With a population over 25,000, Xenia is located approximately 30 minutes east of downtown Dayton. Xenia is a friendly town, and known for its hospitality. It's a tenacious community finding strength in adversity. A tornado April 3, 1974 killed 33, destroyed almost half of the city's buildings and made 10,000 homeless. Nine schools, nine churches and 180 businesses perished but the city still had the courage to bounce back and make Xenia what it is today. Xenia

Xenia, Ohio is centrally located in the 'transportation triangle' formed by three major interstate highways I-70, I-71, and I-75. These north-south, east-west arteries are within minutes of Xenia via U.S. 35, U.S. 42, and U.S. 68, tying the community to one of the nation's largest 90-minute highway markets.

Greene Memorial Hospital in nearby Xenia is the county hospital.

Bikers are fans of the charmingly scenic Cedarville portion of the Ohio to Erie Bike trail. History buffs frequent both the downtown Cedarville Opera House for a full array of music, theatre and literary recitals, and the nearby historic Clifton Mill with its working gristmill, country store and restaurant. Rural living allows many to adopt green thumbs, with beautiful flower and bountiful vegetable gardens.

Settlers in 1802 discovered the plentiful waterpower in this small central Greene County town with its numerous creeks and rivers. The water allowed millers to use that power to operate three grist mills, including what stands today at nearby Clifton Mill, as the nation's largest water powered grist mill still in existence. These mills provided corn meal that fed troops during the Civil War. 3200 residents call this small village of not quite three miles square home.

Cedarville

St. Rt. 42 intersects the village, connecting with Ohio Rt. 343.

Fifteen minutes away in Springfield, Ohio are two hospitals. Springfield Regional Medical Hospital has 259 hospital beds with general medical and surgical services. The Ohio Valley Medical Center provides both inpatient and outpatient surgical care along with other medical services such as a breast center, diagnostic imaging, physical therapy, sports medicine and lab services. Hospitals within a 30-mile radius include Children’s Medical Center, Miami Valley Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital, all in downtown Dayton.

Enon, which means abundance of springs, is the home of the second largest conical mound in Ohio. It’s situated in the middle of downtown on an old Indian trail, which ran between the Indian Villages of Old Piqua and Old Chillicothe. Settlers came to the area in the late 1700s and the town was incorporated in 1850 and there are now 2,500 residents .

Enon residents display a keen interest in history with an active Community Historical Society. The Indian Mound Library has one of the most active circulation desks in the county. 

There are several parks in Enon. 'Enon Park' has 12 acres that includes a playground area and three shelter houses. 'Galloway Park' features a soccer field, shelter house and a playground area. ' Settlers Park' is highlighted with a public gazebo.

Nationally known Northwest Trader is located in Enon and is the foremost supplier of finished capotes, capote kits and blankets anywhere especially for theatre usage. Local Enon merchants provide general merchandise and services conveniently located for residents. 

Located 20 minutes away in Beavercreek, the Mall at Fairfield Commons contains five department stores and 130 franchise clothing, shoe and specialty stores. Another option for shopping is to head into Springfield where there are several shopping plazas and retail centers.

Enon is 30 minutes northeast of Dayton, in Clark County. Escaping from the city hustle and bustle and finding more time to enjoy rural pursuits is why many residents continue to make Enon their home, and it's what entices new residents to the area. Affordable bungalows, modest single-family dwellings and ranch style homes make up the majority of home styles. New home construction is found near the interstate on the outskirts of town.

Enon

Enon’s nearest interstate is I-70, a few minutes outside town. The village is located seven and one-half miles southwest of Springfield, Ohio.

Recreational facilities are an integral part of Yellow Springs. The 72-mile Little Miami Scenic Trail Bike Path starts just north of Yellow Springs. The Glen Helen Nature Preserve offers 1000 acres of waterfalls, limestone cliffs, woods and the famous Yellow Spring. The John Bryant State Park is located minutes outside the city, along the Little Miami River. Its more than 700 acres are used by residents for camping, picnics and hiking. Close-by is Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve where hikers climb through ancient rock formations. Craft fairs, street festivals and other community events abound in Yellow Springs. The town has a seasonal community swimming pool, a chamber music series, several art galleries and an art-film theatre. A working dairy farm and frequent tourist destination, Young's Dairy Farm not only has milk straight from the cow, but a petting zoo, miniature golf and full deli and ice cream shop.

Shoppers will enjoy the eclectic shops clustered downtown. Not a chain store is in sight, but you will find a range of choices including gifts, spices, health foods, herbs, handcrafted arts and numerous other shops. For more everyday shopping, Fairfield Commons Mall is a short drive.

While the spring which gives the town its name still exists, this small Greene County city approximately 40 miles east of downtown Dayton is known today for its recreational attractions, wonderful shops and restaurants, and culturally diverse Antioch College where a wide range of political and social views are well represented. 4,000 residents live in charming turn of the century homes, converted farmhouses, and modest bungalows.
