Lemon Township, Ohio
Lemon Township was settled in 1795. The Miami and Erie Canal passed through the township (paralleling the Great Miami shoreline and linked Hamilton to Middletown.) Some of this canal are preserved in the parks in the township including the lock at Excello.
Lemon Township includes most of the city of Monroe. It has a population of 18,900 residents. One finds homes is all styles and price ranges in the areal including homes on acreage.
Interstate 75 is the major highway for Lemon Township. State Routes 4, 64 and 73 also service the area.
The West Chester Hospital Surgical Center is located off I-75. Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus is also a short drive off I-75. Dayton’s Atrium Medical Center is located in Middletown. All seven of Cincinnati’s finest hospitals are within a 45-minute drive via the interstate, including Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Christ Hospital and University Hospital.
Cincinnati Premium Outlet Mall is located in Monroe and offers 100s of national stores. Deerfield Towne Cenre in Mason is a 15-minute drive with 50 stores and restaurants. Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati is a 30-minute drive with over 200 stores including Nordstrom, Macy’s and Dillard’s.
The City of Monroe offers six parks including Veterans Memorial Park and Community Park. Nearby Cherokee Park has over 30 acres and features a large pond for fishing as well as hiking trails. Dudley Memorial Park includes a playground, shelter, picnic tables, grills, hiking paths and fishing.
