The village of Casstown is located in Miami County. The population is under 300 residents. The village is named after Lewis Cass, a U.S. senator from Michigan who was also an 1848 presidential candidate.
The village was the home to writer and poet Thomas Harbaugh, a popular writer in the 1800s. A former Casstown school located in the village is now privately owned.
