Mercy Health West Hospital is within a 10-minute drive. The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in College Hill is also convenient to Mt. Healthy. All major Cincinnati hospitals are about 30-minutes driving time from the community. Two hospitals in Hamilton, Ohio are a 20-minute drive to the north.

Living up to its name, Mt. Healthy was established in 1817 by citizens who survived a cholera epidemic in 1850. In 1951, it became a city. Mt. Healthy is just 15 short miles from downtown Cincinnati.

Mercy Health West Hospital is just ten minutes away. All other Cincinnati hospitals including Good Samaritan Hospital, University Hospital, The Christ Hospital and Children’s Hospital Medical Center are 15 to 20 minutes away. Cincinnati Children's Hospital has a new mental health facility in the works on Hamilton Avenue and should be completed by 2023.

Named after two colleges which were established here, College Hill still reflects the elegance and aristocracy that influenced this community during the 19th century. In fact, many of the streets are still gas-lit. This urban village offers many styles of homes from old to new.

Within the heart of the community are many convenient recreational facilities with playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts and swimming pools. Mt. Airy Forest, with 2,000 acres, is only 10 minutes away. There are three swim clubs within 5 minutes, as well as the Powell Crosley YMCA recreation center with three outdoor pools and one indoor Olympic pool. Golfers have the private Clovernook Country Club or three additional public courses, Fairfield Municipal Park, Winton Woods and Lake Gloria Par 3 course. There are several pay lakes in the area for fishermen. LaBoiteaux Woods, a 50-acre nature preserve and summer day camp, is within College Hill. McEvoy Park and Crawford Commons are two other neighborhood parks. 

The area’s Recreation Center on Belmont Avenue has tennis courts, indoor running paths and an exercise area.

Local shopping facilities are excellent along a well-established five-block area of Hamilton Avenue, in the center of College Hill. The College Hill Station is under construction as part of business district and will soon offer retail, office spaces as well as residential apartments. Within a five-minute drive are the Brentwood and North College Hill Shopping Centers. Northgate Mall is just 10 minutes away. Within a 20-minute drive is the Kenwood Towne Centre with over 100 stores and three anchor department stores: Nordstrom, Macy's and Dillard's. 

The community has quite a few local restaurants and pubs to frequent. The Brink Brewery is a 3,200sf taproom. There are also fun eateries such as Bacalls Cafe, Mary’s Hops and Vines and the College Hill Coffee Company.

This historical neighborhood sits high on a ridge, with rolling wooded terrain. In some areas, the elegant old homes, surrounded by ancient trees, give the familiar Cincinnati impression of great strength and variety. Other sections have smaller homes, as well as many pleasant apartments. Several new developments offer attractive ranch designs as well as brick homes. College Hill

There is quick access to expressways I-75, I-74 and I-275 plus the Ronald Reagan Highway. Driving time to downtown Cincinnati is 20 minutes. Queen City Metro Bus service gives excellent service to College Hill.

Mercy Health - Mt. Airy is less than a mile from the center of North College Hill. The Cincinnati Residential Treatment Center for Children is located on Hamilton Avenue. Cincinnati’s Good Samaritan Hospital is about 15 minutes away, with several others five minutes further.

LaBoyteaux-Cary Cemetery, the resting site of pioneers including the Cary family, is  North College Hill’s oldest landmark on the northwest corner of Galbraith Road and Hamilton Avenue. William Cary settled in the area in 1813 along what is now Hamilton Avenue. He built a cabin in this wilderness that was known as Mill Creek Township. The area later became a wealthy suburb called Pleasant Hill and was renamed College Hill due to quite a few schools that were established there in the mid 1800s. Cary built a white, brick house called Cary Cottage which became the first home for blind women in Ohio.  This home was later purchased by William Procter (grandson of the Procter & Gamble founders) and the Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired was established. Also of note is the fact the Dr. Isaac Mayer Wise (known as a leader in Reform Judaism in America) had a 40-acre farm near the current intersection of Goodman and Hamilton Avenues. College Hill was largely farmland throughout the 1800s. In 1905, a subdivision of small homes were constructed near Galbraith Road and Hamilton Avenue called Meyerville. More subdivisions were established and the area grew. There were 4,100 residents in the 1920s and 12,000 residents by the early 1960s. The City of North College Hill currently has 9,300 residents.

Nearby Clovernook Country Club is a private 18-hole course. There is also a public 18-hole course 12 minutes away in Winton Woods. A community swimming pool and playground is at the disposal of North College Hill residents and guests. There are many baseball diamonds available and a four-week basketball clinic is held for boys prior to the season. Within a mile or two are boating and fishing lakes. There is a dancing class for children from age 5 and a program in ballroom dancing for boys and girls of junior high age. A tennis club with indoor courts, lockers and gym is also available. North College Hill has six parks: Dumley Park, Pies and North Creek Park, Schafper Park, Stapleton Park and Veterans Park.

There are many retail outlets along Galbraith Road and Hamilton Avenue. A convenience center is at the intersection of these streets. The Northgate Mall, at Springdale and Colerain, is only 10 minutes from North College Hill.

The North College Hill business district generates a feeling of stability and well-being. Through the years, it has retained its distinctive personality. For the most part, the houses are small and attractive. Proud owners are dedicated to the upkeep of their property values and good housekeeping is predominant everywhere. North College Hill offers comfort and individuality.

North College Hill

North College Hill has very good bus service to Downtown Cincinnati and two main arteries of Cincinnati from the city’s main streets, thus giving good access roads to town and to eastern suburbs. The Ronald Reagan Highway gives easy access to I-75, I-74, I-275 and I-71. Driving time to downtown is 30 minutes

Cincinnati's Good Samaritan and Deaconess Hospitals are 15 minutes away. Mercy Franciscan-Mt. Airy and Mercy South are 10 minutes away. There are numerous medical buildings in the village with many doctors, dentists, orthodontists, pediatricians, obstetricians, eye doctors, etc.

An excellent school system and recreational programs are key factors in attracting residents to this well-planned community of clean air and quiet, secluded streets.

Nearby Winton Woods offers fishing, camping, boating, horseback riding, archery, picnic areas, an 18-hole golf course and ice skating in the winter. McEvoy Park has baseball, football and picnic areas. There are two private swim clubs, with tennis courts, a booster club and Teenage Canteen. Two private golf clubs are in adjoining suburbs. A YMCA has an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, racquetball and paddle ball courts. There are also day care facilities. Movie theaters are a short distance away. Bowling and tennis facilities are also close. Four all-weather tennis courts are available. A Community Senior Citizen Center is also available.

The large Brentwood Shopping Center is about five minutes from anywhere in Finneytown. The Northgate Mall and Kenwood Towne Centre are 15 minutes away. Downtown shopping is 20 minutes away.

Homes of almost every design can be found here from ranches to cape cods and two stories. Easy access to shopping and parks makes Finneytown an ideal neighborhood with access to Interstates 275 and 75.

Queen City Metro buses give good morning and evening rush hour service with fewer trips in between. A short drive down Winton Road leads to I-75 for accessibility to downtown Cincinnati in 20 minutes. Ronald Reagan Highway provides quick access to the east and west sides of town.

All seven of Cincinnati’s finest hospitals are within a 15-minute drive via the interstate, including Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Christ Hospital and University Hospital. Mercy Hospital is within a 10-minute drive.

Groesbeck was originally founded as West Union but changed its name in 1857 when it discovered another West Union already existed in Ohio. (The area was originally named for the first resident, Charles West.) In November 2007, Businessweek magazine named this community among the best 50 places to raise children.

Heritage Park, Dravo Park, Clippard Park and Colerain Park are located nearby, offering playing fields, water parks, playgrounds as well as concerts and other community activities. Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve offers a walking trail, butterfly and wildflower garden as well as has events at its two-story barn. Golfing is available at nearby Pebble Creek Golf Course. Clippard YMCA offers indoor and outdoor pools and other recreation. The Miami River is enjoyed by boating enthusiasts. Youth sports is available to area residents.

The area has many local businesses, shops and restaurants including the iconic Walt’s Barbeque on Colerain Avenue. Stone Creek Shopping Center and Northgate Mall are nearby and have a Macy’s and Sears as well as 200+ national-branded stores.

Groesbeck shares its government, schools and law enforcement with Colerain Township. In the area, homes range from ranches to two-stories.

I-275 transports one around the outer loop of Cincinnati with a connection to I-75  for north and south travel. Ronald Reagan Highway connects east and west travel. It is a 15-minute drive to downtown Cincinnati. Cincinnati buses service the area.

Mt. Healthy has an aquatics center and playground located at the City Park. Residents enjoy summer concerts there as well as the play fields for baseball, soccer and football and walking trails. Heritage Park features a paved walkway and pond. The Forest Avenue Wetland Park is a nature preserve with ponds and unpaved walking trail. This park also features  a picnic shelter. 

Nearby are the Winton Woods public golf course and the 18-hole private Clovernook Club. Residents enjoy the Powell Crosley YMCA with membership for year-round swimming, summer day camps for children and tennis courts. There are two racquetball courts, one in North College Hill (five minutes away) and the other in Forest Park (10 minutes away). There is also a tennis club in North College Hill. Nearby Winton Woods County Park affords fishing, boating, horseback riding, archery and 18-hole golf course and ice skating in season. There is also trailer and tent camping in a very nice campground. 

Annual events in Mt. Healthy include a fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day. During December, the community has several holiday activities to enjoy.

There are many local convenient stores throughout Mt. Healthy. Northgate Mall is about 10 minutes away and features several brand-name stores. Spring Hill Shopping Center and Hilltop Plaza Shopping Center are located within a 10-minute drive. The Kenwood Towne Centre is about 20 minutes away and offers 100+ stores as well as Nordstrom, Macy's and Dillard's department stores.

Mt. Healthy offers a variety of dwellings. These modest houses are on small lots and make perfect starter homes. The neighborhood business district is typical of the spirit in this congenial little city. The majority of the merchants still do business the old way. Some specialty stores even draw customers from all over Hamilton County, because they have old, hard-to-get items. With convenient shopping and Queen City Metro bus service nearby, today's homebuyer will find Mt. Healthy an excellent value in good living.

Mt. Healthy

Cincinnati buses provide regular service (and more frequent during rush hours) to Northgate Mall and downtown Cincinnati. It is a short distance to I-275 Circle Freeway which connects with I-75, I-71 and the Ronald Reagan Highway. Driving time to downtown is 25 minutes.
