Established in 1891 by Matthew Addy, the village of Addyston is located 10 miles west of downtown Cincinnati along the beautiful banks of the Ohio River. It was built by the Ohio Pipe Foundry for its employees and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. There is no home delivery of mail in Addyston as all 1,000 residents are required to pick up mail directly from the Post Office on Main Street.

Addyston is located along Route 50 along the Ohio River. Interstates 275, 75, 71 are within a 20-minute drive. Addyston is just 14 miles from Downtown Cincinnati and is serviced by Queen City Metro, Cincinnati’s public bus system..
The nearest hospital is the Mercy Franciscan Hospital in Western Hills, approximately 10 minutes from Addyston. All seven of Cincinnati’s finest hospitals are within a 15-20 minute drive via the interstate, including Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Christ Hospital and University Hospital.
On Main Street there are several local businesses and shops. Western Hills Shopping Center is a 15-minute drive. The Whitewater Mall is located on Rts 50 and 128. A 30-minute drive and one can shop at the Kenwood Towne Centre with many national brand stores including Nortstrom, Macy’s and Dillard’s. Northgate Mall is 30 minutes away in Colerain Township and offers Sears and Macy’s along with 200 retail stores.
This community adopted a “We THRIVE!” community resolution in 2012 to make the area more walkable and provide outdoor exercise equipment for the green space located at the municipal building. Westside Sports Park is located in Addyston and is a softball facility. Fernbank Park is located in Saylor Park along the Ohio River and offers a one-mike nature trail, playground and access to fish along the bank of the Ohio River. Shawnee Lookout Park, just 7 minutes away, offers an 18-hole golf course, baseball fields, a playground, walking trails and a fishing lake. Mitchell Memorial Park is also approximately 7 minutes from Addyston and offers everything that Shawnee Lookout offers, minus the golf course.
