Middletown is home to several large industries including paper manufacturing and aerospace technology.


Two hundred year old Middletown is home to approximately 50,000 people living within its corporate limits and another 50,000 in the surrounding area. Located conveniently between Cincinnati and Dayton on the Great Miami River, Middletown boasts a wealth of history, culture, and natural splendor. Middletown is located in Butler County on I-75 midway between Cincinnati and Dayton.


Atrium Hospital and a branch of Dayton's Children's Hospital are located off of I-75.


Historic South Main Street offers eclectic shopping opportunities in a scenic downtown. 63 stores and eateries fill the popular Towne Mall located at St. Rt. 122 and Cincinnati Dayton Rd. Numerous strip malls, both chains and fast food restaurants line the highway access to the downtown. Local merchants fill the needs of residents with convenient shopping in many neighborhoods. For the bargain enthusiast, Cincinnati Premium Outlet, with over 100 stores, is a short drive away.


There are 27 parks throughout the city for casual enjoyment, sports and recreation. Additionally, several state parks are within easy driving distance, including Hueston Woods, Caesar's Creek and Germantown Dam, and are great stops for boating, fishing and water-skiing.

Visit one of the best public golf courses in the US, the Weatherwax Golf Club, or take a swing at The Golf Center, a course 15 minutes away designed by Jack Nicklaus. Middfest International is held the first weekend each October. Celebrating a different country each year, entertainers and diplomats travel to Middletown to perform and educate. Great ethnic food is available along with many artisans displaying their creations.

Middletown's history can be easily viewed by visiting the Canal Museum. Publications, relics and an extensive collection of artistic illustrations trace the cultural and economic growth of Middletown. An Artist and Lecture series sponsored and held at the Miami University Middletown Campus, the Middletown Fine Arts Center and the Sorg Opera Company are just a few of the cultural attractions.
