About Pleasant Hill

Introduction

The village of Pleasant Hill was incorporated in 1836 and is located in Miami County and has a population of 1,200 residents. The area was formerly called “Newton”.

Summary

The village has a “home town” feel to it with a Civil War monument located in the center of town. One finds older as well as newly built homes in Pleasant Hill with modest to moderate prices.

Transportation

Pleasant Hill is bisected by State Routes 48 and 718. The closest major highway is Interstate 75.

Hospitals

Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Wayne Hospital in Greenville as well as Good Samaritan Hospital and Grandview Medical Center in Dayton serve the residents. Dayton Children’s Hospital is the closest pediatric hospital.

Shopping

Greenville Falls Scenic River Area (part of the Miami County Park system) is a short drive away. Hobart Urban Nature Preserve has two miles of trails and 80 acres of land is located to the east near I-75 in Troy.

Recreation

Pleasant Hill has a few local stores and restaurants for every day needs. Troy Towne Center in Troy and the Miami Valley Centre Mall in Piqua offer shopping opportunities. Residents can also drive to Dayton for more shopping opportunities.
