Many homeowners in Park Hills feel they have chosen the loveliest, most convenient community in the metropolitan area. It has been anmed as a Best Place to Live by Cincinnati Magazine. Many parts of Park Hills are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The area was developed in the 1920s when three local families purchased land and began forming streets (many of which are named after famous historical figures as well as names from literature).
