About Park Hills


Many homeowners in Park Hills feel they have chosen the loveliest, most convenient community in the metropolitan area. It has been anmed as a Best Place to Live by Cincinnati Magazine. Many parts of Park Hills are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The area was developed in the 1920s when three local families purchased land and began forming streets (many of which are named after famous historical figures as well as names from literature). The city was formally incorporated in 1927 with 500 residents. A former trolley system transported residents to downtown Covington, Cincinnati and other places in Kenton County. Trolley Park is named in honor of that transportation system and you can see one of the trolley stop shelters in this park.


Adjacent to Devou Park, Park Hills residents enjoy easy access to tennis, golf and hiking, while being just five minutes away from the cultural, sports, and business activities of downtown Cincinnati. A strong sense of community enhances its appeal. Well known for its hills, wooded lots and large traditional homes, Park Hills is a fine place to live. There are 3,000 residents.


T.A.N.K. bus service (Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky) provides transportation throughout Northern Kentucky. Downtown Cincinnati is a five minute drive. Florence Industrial Park and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport require a 10-15 minute drive.


Park Hills is within 15 minutes of four major hospitals. The hospitals are St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, St. Elizabeth West and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Children's Hospital is located in Cincinnati.


Downtown shopping areas in both Cincinnati and Covington are easily accessible. Crestview Hills Town Center and Buttermilk Towne Center are 10-20 minutes south of Park Hills. Park Hills residents are no more than 25 minutes away from most of the major shopping areas in Greater Cincinnati.


Park Hills is next door to Devou Park, with lovely picnic areas, a museum, a memorial building, and a spectacular view. It also includes a golf course and tennis courts, as well as a clubhouse. Tennis and golf lessons are available. Private country clubs and swim clubs are nearby. The community hosts an annual Memorial Day Parade, Easter Egg Hunt and an annual picnic at Trolley Park.
