About Silver Grove
Silver Grove lies along Route 8, which parallels the Ohio River. The flavor is very rural as the town is surrounded by agricultural land. Homes vary from modest to large. Farms have been divided and this has encouraged growth in the areas. There are 1,300 residents in this city.
Silver Grove was established as a railroad town in 1911 for the Cheasapeake and Ohio Railway. At the time, it was very modern with electric lights, a modern fire department and water and sewer systems. The city now has a small-town feel to it while just minutes from many big city activities.
Route 8 is the main east to west highway connecting the town with other populated areas of Campbell County. The AA Highway has become an integral part of Campbell County. Public transportation is provided by the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky. A short drive away are interstates 471, 75, 71 and 275.
St. Elizabeth Hospital East is located in Fort Thomas, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is also available.
There are many smaller businesses in Silver Grove. The Silver Grove Dari Bar is “world famous” and popular during warmer months. Easy access to I-471 and the AA Highway lead to all major shopping areas.
River sports are the popular attraction. Chief Sayers Park offers a baseball field, picnic shelters and pavilions. During the summer, concerts are hosted at this park. Movie night is held at The Grove in the park. The community has a yearly tree-lighting ceremony in December.
