Greater NKY Area Overview
Residents argue over who has the best view of the Cincinnati skyline, but all Northern Kentucky residents will tell you it’s them. The northernmost sections of the three river-hugging counties of Northern Kentucky are all hustle and bustle. Two large hospital systems, St. Elizabeth North and South, and St. Luke East and West, dominate the hospital services in the area. Several specialty hospitals offer additional medical care. Just across the river in Cincinnati, The University of Cincinnati Medical Complex along with Children’s Hospital Medical Center are ranked nationally for their quality of care.
World-class shopping can be found just across the river in the heart of Cincinnati, but the Northern Kentucky region abounds with numerous high-class shopping destinations at regional malls surrounding the area. Specialty boutiques and destination shopping offer browsing opportunities, many with a unique neighborhood flavor. It’s easy to find all you need within minutes of home.
A vibrant downtown riverfront mixes with the industry, economics, arts and culture as a focus for the southern side of the riverbank. Newport on the Levee continues to be a focal point for dining and entertainment. The area includes hundreds of opportunities for fun, including sports, arts and cultural activities, and enough outdoor activities to fill anyone’s schedule. Colleges and universities educate students from around the world.
