Tipp City's location 30 minutes north of Dayton in Miami County provides the perfect tie between small town charm and big city convenience. Many of the shops in the downtown area are the original structures, 89 of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. These footprints from the past are still felt today in the rich architectural heritage that is passionately preserved by a restoration board which regulates exterior improvements and new construction in the historic district. There are also many attractive homes, rich in historical value, for those who enjoy the architecture of earlier eras. While the amenities of urban society are plentiful, the community's quiet personality is carefully preserved for a superior quality of life.

I-75 and Route 571are the primary routes in and out of Tipp City. I-70 is just six miles away. Dayton International Airport is 10 miles away.

Miami Valley Hospital North in nearby Englewood provides accessible health care services. The Northmont Medical Center is available 7 days a week, no appointment necessary. Dettmer Hospital, Stouder Memorial Hospital, and Upper Valley Medical Center are nearby in Troy.

Tipp City has two major shopping districts - the historic downtown area where an eclectic array of gifts, antiques and the unusual are side by side with neighborhood services. Tipp City Plaza at the I-75 and 571 interchange has a range of fast food, banking, movie rental and other service needs.

Concentrating on Tipp City and Monroe Township, Tippecanoe-Monroe-Bethel Historical Museum and its research archives illustrate the change and growth of the community. The museum is located a short distance from the Tippecanoe National Register Historical District. Begun in 1958 to showcase fields of mums growing on the edge of town, the Tipp City Mum Festival is Miami County’s oldest festival.

Canoeing is a summer time pleasure for residents, as well as challenging themselves on one of five local golf courses. The busy city park and pool are popular. Charleston Falls Preserve’s 169 natural acres feature boardwalks, a waterfall, hiking trails, limestone cave and an observation tower.

There are several parks in Tipp City to enjoy. The City Park has a roundhouse, 3 shelters, football/soccer fields, playground areas and the Tippecanoe Family Aquatic Center. Kyle Park has 280 acres and is near South First Street. The Canal Lock Park is in downtown Tipp City on E. Main Street and has a bike path, benches and picnic tables. At the north end of the city is the Nature Center with a scenic river overlook, ponds, walking//biking path. The Veterans Memorial Park is a monument tribute with a gazebo.

The Canal Music Fest is an annual and popular event.
