The City of Hillsboro has 6,600 residents. Founded in 1807, the area grew rapidly during the mid 1800s since it was a stop for two separate railroad lines. Shaffer Park has baseball fields and leagues for those who play this sport. Rocky Fork State Park offers boating on is 2,080-acre lake as well as fishing, hiking and picnicking. Hillsboro has a cinema in town.
