Like many of Ohio's small towns, the coming of the railroad shaped the Trotwood community. The historic Trotwood Depot has been renovated and stands as a reminder of the town's past.


Located approximately six miles northwest of Dayton in Montgomery County, Trotwood is a community of 31,000 that can be described in three words -Town and Country. Trotwood has many beautiful neighborhoods with active neighborhood associations. Within Trotwood lies Sycamore State Park, located in both Trotwood and Ferry Townships, offers 2,300 acres of hiking trails, picnic areas, horse trails, fishing lakes, camping grounds and more. The park is a winter haven for sledders, skaters, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers. For golf enthusiasts, Larch Tree offers an 18-hole golf course.
