About Washington Township
Early settlers described Washington Township as an amazingly fertile land with fine springs and creeks that remain today.
Although this is an area of continued growth, a well-balanced mix of residential developments includes single family, condominiums, and apartments in a wide range of architectural styles and prices. Mixed in is planned green space to heighten the areas spacious open feeling.
I-675 and I-75 offer convenient access to Washington Township.
Three hospitals service the area including Southview Medical Center, Sycamore Medical Center and Miami Valley South. Dayton Children's Hospital is also available to provide healthcare.
Main and Franklin provide the center of the area's shopping opportunities, with convenient stores providing for residents day-to day needs. Just minutes away in Centerville is The Dayton Mall. The mall has four anchor stores, over 120 specialty shops and restaurants.
Hundreds of programs and recreational opportunities are offered at the townships 27-acre recreation complex on Miamisburg-Centerville Road, including a natatorium with two indoor pools, and a 140-foot water flume side, two gyms, indoor running track and climbing wall and numerous other amenities. Adjacent to the complex is a 25-acre park complete with a running track, play field, historic log cabin, picnic shelters and ponds as well as the Butterfly Playground. Nearby Centerville offers a cinema, and cultural offerings. The Town Hill Theatre has many productions for the younger audience.
