Introduction

The Dayton International Airport has made Vandalia a hub both on land with I-75 and I-70 and in the airways.

Summary

Thousands of tourists visit Vandalia annually, taking advantage of the intersections of two of America's most traveled highways, I-75 and I-70. The 14,600 residents of this northern Montgomery County 10 minutes from downtown welcome visitors for the United States Air and Trade Show, one of North America's premier aerospace displays and expositions. Vandalia is exploding with no less than seven new housing construction developments underway, trying to meet the demands for new residents' needs.

Transportation

Vandalia hugs I-75 north of Dayton. St. Rt. 40 provides east-west access. RTA provides bus service to the city.

Hospitals

Good Samaritan Hospital and Samaritan North Health Center in nearby Englewood provides accessible health care services. The Northmont Medical Center is available 7 days a week, no appointment necessary.

Shopping

Shopping seems to follow the demands and right now it's centered around two areas, the Poe Avenue and National Road. Local merchants are busy filling day to day needs, with downtown Dayton perhaps the closest of big shopping centers.

Recreation

Vandalia's parks and recreation staff is trying to keep up with the demands the growing community is placing on its parks. The Vandalia Sports Complex is a busy place with ball fields, volleyball, soccer, basketball and hiking trails. The Cassel Hills Golf Club of Vandalia offers an 18-hole golf course for residents.
