The village of Glendale has had a reputation for aristocratic beauty since its incorporation in 1855. Approximately 2200 residents enjoy small-town living in an area of approximately one square mile, including 392 acres designated a Historic Landmark by the Department of the Interior. Glendale is believed to be America's oldest subdivision village laid out in a curvilinear plan according to topography. There is an activities center in the historic village square, and amenities include some of Greater Cincinnati's finest restaurants and chic shops. The sense of magic here is created in a park-like setting of winding lanes, still lighted by old-style gas lamps. Glendale is designated a "Tree City U.S.A." Trees with as many years as the village itself still surround the majestic homes. Newer developments have been designed to harmonize with the historic ambiance. In every neighborhood there is a sense of leisure and serenity, of room enough and time enough for gracious living.

One part of Glendale joins I-75 which means that most Millcreek Valley Industries can be reached in 15 minutes or less. I-275 is within three minutes of Glendale. Getting to downtown Cincinnati requires about 20 minutes, downtown Hamilton about 20. There is bus service every other hour to both Cincinnati and Hamilton.

Bethesda North in Montgomery and Mercy Health – Fairfield on Mack Road are within 15 minutes of Glendale. Cincinnati Children's – Liberty Campus and UC Health West Chester Hospital are a 10-minute drive. Good Samaritan, Christ and other hospitals within the heart of Cincinnati are within 25 minutes.

Most everyday shopping can be done right in the village. Glendale's Village Square features independent shops and restaurants. It's a fun place to explore with gift shops, home furnishings, wine and cheese stores and more. There are quite a few places to dine with eateries meeting all kinds of tastes. Within 15 minutes is Kenwood Towne Centre in Sycamore Township, complete with 100+ designer and brand-name shops as well as department stores including Nordstorm, Macy's and Dillard's. Liberty Center in Fairfield Township is another 15-minute drive northward. It's a great place to head for a shopping adventure with 40+ retail stores and 30 places to have a snack or meal.

Glendale prides itself on its parks and trees. There are several parks and greenbelts, with baseball diamonds, soccer fields and tennis courts, in addition to the Princeton High School facilities at the Glendale boundary. The Glendale Lyceum (private) offers tennis, paddle tennis, swimming and a variety of social, cultural and civic activities. Queen City Racquet Club (private) is one block from Glendale, and offers tennis, swimming, basketball and fitness facilities. Public golf courses are located in nearby Glenview, Winton Woods and Sharon Woods parks.

The Glendale Heritage Preservation Museum is located in the old railroad depot at the Village Square. The Village has four garden clubs that help to maintain green spaces at the square, parks and various public properties. The Harry Whiting Brown Community Center hosts summer concerts as well a holiday home tour and other community events. The Village's chamber of commerce coordinates an annual Street Faire, Antique Auto Show and Christmas in the Square celebration. Glendale has an annual Memorial Day parade.
