Mt. Healthy offers a variety of dwellings. These modest houses are on small lots and make perfect starter homes. The neighborhood business district is typical of the spirit in this congenial little city. The majority of the merchants still do business the old way. Some specialty stores even draw customers from all over Hamilton County, because they have old, hard-to-get items. Cincinnati buses provide regular service (and more frequent during rush hours) to Northgate and Tri-County Shopping Centers and downtown Cincinnati. It is a short distance to I-275 Circle Freeway which connects with I-75, I-71 and the Ronald Reagan Highway. Driving time to downtown is 25 minutes.

Mercy Health West Hospital is within a 10-minute drive. The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in College Hill is also convenient to Mt. Healthy. All major Cincinnati hospitals are about 30-minutes driving time from the community. Two hospitals in Hamilton, Ohio are a 20-minute drive to the north.

There are many local convenient stores throughout Mt. Healthy. Northgate Mall is about 10 minutes away and features several large department stores as well as smaller shops. Several other large shopping malls, Tri-County Mall and the Kenwood Towne Centre are about 20 minutes away. Spring Hill Shopping Center and Hilltop Plaza Shopping Center are located within a 10-minute drive.

Mt. Healthy has an aquatics center and playground located at the City Park. Residents enjoy summer concerts there as well as the play fields for baseball, soccer and football and walking trails. Heritage Park features a paved walkway and pond. The Forest Avenue Wetland Park is a nature preserve with ponds and unpaved walking trail. This park also features a picnic shelter.

Nearby are the Winton Woods public golf course and the 18-hole private Clovernook Club. Residents enjoy the Powell Crosley YMCA with membership for year-round swimming, summer day camps for children and tennis courts. There are two racquetball courts, one in North College Hill (five minutes away) and the other in Forest Park (10 minutes away). There is also a tennis club in North College Hill. Nearby Winton Woods County Park affords fishing, boating, horseback riding, archery and 18-hole golf course and ice skating in season. There is also trailer and tent camping in a very nice campground.

Annual events in Mt. Healthy include a fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day. During December, the community has several holiday activities to enjoy.
