Mercy Health - Anderson Hospital in Anderson Township is within a 10-15 minute drive. This 96-bed acute care unit serves the community with 24-hour emergency service, extensive outpatient services, diagnostic and rehabilitative treatments and a variety of surgical and medical procedures. The Five Mile and Beechmont Avenue area (about 15 minutes away) also has offices for general and specialty doctors including facilities for The Christ Hospital, Tri-Health and Children’s Hospital Anderson. There are several other fine Cincinnati hospitals within a 25-minute drive.

The heart of “downtown” Newtown has many local shops and restaurants to enjoy. Residents enjoy the Main Street Cafe, and Urban Grill on Main as well as Just Q’in Barbeque. Dairy Corner and UDF are popular places during the summer when looking for an ice cream treat. Neighborhood breweries are located along US 50. Nearby Mariemont has lovely boutiques. Neighboring areas offer even shopping opportunities including Anderson Town Center, Kenwood Towne Centre and Eastgate Mall, to name a few.

Moundview Park and Short Park (located in the heart of Newtown) offer a variety of outdoor activities. Newtown is also located along the Little Miami National Scenic Trail and River where one can bike, hike or run.

Nearby is Lunken Airport Playfield with hiking/biking/walking trails, golf course, driving range, children’s playfield, putt-putt, tennis courts and picnic areas.

Golfers can either head to Lunken Airport Playfield or enjoy their sport at the nearby public Little Miami Golf Center. The Ivy Hills Country Club and Golf course is private and located minutes away from Newtown.

Own a dog? You are in luck! You can join Wags Park and let your pooch enjoy Cincinnati’s largest private dog park with three fenced-in acres that includes a lake, agility courses, paw-wash station and pet-drinking fountain.

Newtown was once the home to the “Fort Ancient” Native Americans. Explore the American Indian Education Center (at the Newtown Municipal Center) to learn about this prehistoric culture.
