Introduction

The area was first known for its key road – Springfield Pike – also known as the “Great Road” which transported settlers to their new farms. In 1839 Springdale became a village and in 1971 was known as the City of Springdale. There’s been a sense of progress in the air in Springdale for its residents and businesses throughout the years.

Summary

You’ll find neighborhoods of older and newly built homes in Springdale. The 2019 Citirama home show is scheduled to take place at the Springrose subdivision – a 50-lot community. Springdale residents are proud of their fine city infrastructure services. Many well-known companies call Springdale home including Macy’s Corporate Services, Humana, the Kroger Company, Proctor and Gamble and General Electric Engine Services, to name a few. Plans have been carefully worked out to see that industrial and residential growth has been orderly.

Transportation

The intersection of I-75 and I-275 is nearby. I-75 runs to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to the south; I-275 connects with I-74 to the west and I-71 to the east. The Ohio Bus Lines and Queen City Metro Bus service serve Springdale with reliable schedules, more frequent, of course, during the rush hours.

Hospitals

Mercy Fairfield Hospital is located on Mack Road in neighboring Fairfield and is a 5-10 minute drive for Springdale residents. I-275 east makes Bethesda North TriHealth Hospital easily accessible within 20 minutes and Mercy Hospital North in Hamilton is also approximately 20 minutes away. Cincinnati’s other fine hospitals, including the Children’s Hospital Medical Center, are approximately 25-30 minutes to the south.

Shopping

There are many great places to shop in or near Springdale with over four million square feet of retail space! Springdale Town Center is located in the heart of Springdale at Springfield Pike and Kemper Road and features convenient stores such as a florist, bakery, pet salon and pharmacy. Tri-County Mall features anchor store Macy’s along with other national brand stores. Nearby are other shopping areas that offer discount stores, Costco, Target, as well as an abundance of specialty shops, furniture stores, day and night banks and automobile dealerships. Kenwood Towne Centre, complete with designer shops and anchors that include Nordstrom, Macy’s and Dilliard’s, is within 15 minutes. Hotel/motel facilities and many fine restaurants can be found locally.

Recreation

The Springdale Community Center (72,000 square feet on 18 acres) is the heart of activity for Springdale residents, offering an amphitheater, swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball courts, sand volleyball courts, indoor walking track, gym, organized sports for children and adults, a sauna and Nautilus equipment. Senior citizens, women’s clubs, Jaycees and many other community groups and organizations meet regularly at the center, making it easy for the newcomer to make new friends in the community.

There are six parks in Springdale with fields, picnic areas and playgrounds. Sharon Woods and Winton Woods, county parks with picnic, camping, golfing and other recreational facilities, are each about 10 minutes away. Glenview, a 27-hole city golf course, borders Glendale. The Crosley and Gross YMCA’s are 15 minutes away.

Springdale 18 Cinemas is great place to see a movie. Roller skating and ice skating rinks are 5-10 minutes from the city.

During warmer months, the farmers’s market is open weekly at Springdale Town Center.
