About Springfield Township
Over 36,000 residents call Springfield Township home. In the 1600s, the area was settled by the Moundbuilder Indians followed by the Algonquin Tribe and Iroquois. During the late 1700s, pioneers came to settle in the area. Finneytown was settled in 1800.
The township consists of neighborhoods including Finneytown, New Burlington Pleasant Run Farms, View Place, Parkview Heights, Edgemont, Glencoe, Golfway, Hollydale, Lexington Heights, West College Hill, Seven Hills, Skyline Acres and Valleydale. Numerous civic and youth organizations are active in the area, and there are five branches of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
