Introduction

Earlier in the century, herds of deer came to this thickly wooded area to drink from the many streams and brooks.

Summary

The woodlands and cool shaded waters have long since disappeared, but Deer Park still maintains a quiet, restful atmosphere. The adjoining community of Dillonvale has a similar personality. Branching off from the business section are many tree-shaded streets with dwellings that range from ranches and Cape Cods to homes that are tastefully designed, but less expensive. Although most of the residents have been here for many years, Deer Park and Dillonvale are beginning to attract new residents. Both communities offer wholesome living in an area that never lost its respect for peace and quiet.

Transportation

Deer Park is strategically situated between I-75 and I-71. The Ronald Reagan Highway travels along the northern boundary giving quick access to far-reaching areas of Hamilton County. Driving time to downtown Cincinnati is 25 minutes. Deer Park is served by Queen City Metro buses.

Hospitals

Jewish Hospital Kenwood Merch Health is within a five-minute drive of Deer Park and is located on Kenwood Road in Sycamore Township. This hospital features a state-of-the-art patient tower as well as a 24-hour emergency department. It also offers the region’s only adult Blood & Marrow Transplant Center. Bethesda North Hospital – a Level III Trauma Center – is located on Montgomery Road and is about 15-minutes away. This full-service hospital has well-used emergency room facilities that are the third busiest in Greater Cincinnati.

Other Cincinnati area hospitals, such as The Christ Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, University Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Medical Center are located within a 20-minute drive.

Shopping

A large, convenience shopping center is located in Dillonvale, a few minutes from Deer Park. The expansive Kenwood Towne Centre, with Cincinnati’s finest department stores, is five-minutes away. Sycamore Square is also located in nearby Kenwood with even more shopping opportunities. Local restaurants are located in Dillonvale, Kenwood and Blue Ash.

Recreation

Chamberlin Park has13.5 acres and offers baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, a corn hole court, walking track, play structures and a shelter house. The community hosts Deer Park Days there in the summer with rides, games and fireworks as well as outdoor concerts and yoga sessions. The Francis R. Healy Community Center is available for residents to rent and has two covered shelters and is located within the park.
