Miami University’s campus offers a wide range of cultural, educational and athletic events too numerous to mention. Sports enthusiasts have several options for recreation, including Division I basketball, ice hockey and football.
The Oxford Community Park blends sports fields, walking and bike paths and natural areas on over 113 acres. The city has several other parks including Leonard Howell Park, Merry Day Park, Robert M. Artz Park, Northside Bark (gated canine park), as well as several baseball and soccer fields.
Hueston Woods State Park, less than five minutes away, offers miles of scenic hiking trails, fishing and boating on 625 acre Acton Lake, an 18 hole golf course, naturalist programs, a nature center with a display of live animals and much more. Nearby Brookville Lake is available for fishing and boating.
The TRI Community Center features an indoor and outdoor basketball court, tennis courts, baseball diamond, picnic shelter and two weight rooms. The Oxford Senior Citizens and Community Center offers its facilities for private social gatherings to Oxford residents. A new Oxford Aquatic Center is in the design stages.
The Oxford Community Arts Center features a diverse arrangement of arts programs and exhibits from play performances to drawing sessions to music and art.
