Introduction

Monroe Township has 7,800 residents. No municipalities are located in the township. The unincorporated community of Point Pleasant is located near the Ohio River and is the birthplace of U.S. President and Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant. This home is open for tours.

The 2,160-acre lake offers boating and fishing. Annual regattas are held at the lake. Hunting is permitted in designated areas of the park. The 1,200-foot swimming beach is popular during the summer. There are many trails to explore whether hiking, biking or horseback riding.
