About Hamilton Township
Named for Alexander Hamilton, and was one of the four original townships in the county, created in May 1803.
Hamilton Township is one of 11 townships in Warren County located in the south central portion of the county. It is the fastest growing area of Warren County with a population of 9,630 residents. With easy interstate access, its wide open spaces are being developed with new subdivisions opening each year. Hamilton Township houses the villages of Maineville, Zoar, Cozaddale, Murdock, Hopkinsville, Dallasburg and Fosters. Parts of the township have been annexed by South Lebanon in the north, and Loveland in the south.
Major roads through the township are U.S. Rt. 22/St. Rt. 3 (also know as the 3C Highway), and St. Rt. 48. The closest major highways Interstates 71 and 75.
The Hamilton Township Fire Department provides EMS service to the township residents. A few minutes south on I-71 is Bethesda North Hospital, one of the area’s busiest hospitals. Bethesda Medical Center at Arrow Springs is located in the northern part of the township and offers the region state-of-the-art outpatient medical care, including 24-hour emergency services and comprehensive diagnostic testing. Across the county is Atrium Medical Center. Children’s Hospital Medical Center offers a regional campus just a short drive in nearby Mason.
Heading north in the township, the Rivers Crossing Retail Park offers convenient shopping to township residents. The Shoppes at Kings Mills (in Mason) feature restaurant and retail businesses. Heading west to Mason and Deerfield Township or south to Loveland offers shoppers numerous food and retail options, with major shopping malls about a 10-minute drive.
One of the busiest places in the township is Testerman Park, used by baseball, soccer, football teams on its 23 acres. This park features four shelters for picnics as well as walking trails. Marr Park is a former 123-acre farm that now offers 13 soccer fields. Mounts Park is named after one of the first families to settle in the area. Bank fishing is offered from the lake’s side. Big Foot Run Dog Park is for all pet lovers.
The Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail is busy nearly all year round by bikers and hikers. Warren County calls itself Ohio’s largest playground, with tourism the region’s biggest draw; residents choose Hamilton Township for its easy access to its numerous activities including Kings Island and The Beach Waterpark. For those who enjoy tennis, the Lindner Family Tennis Center is the site of the annual Western & Southern Open in nearby Mason.
