Deerfield Township

About Deerfield Township

Formed in 1803, the year Ohio became a state, Deerfield Township got its name from the large numbers of deer that stopped at local “deer licks”, or salt licks. In the 1800s the area was a crossroad for commerce. William Mason (a veteran from the Revolutionary War) purchased land in 1815. The town of Mason was later named after him.

Deerfield Township lies in the southwestern portion of Warren County and borders Butler and Hamilton Counties. Home to 37.000 residents and almost 500 businesses, Deerfield Township is exploding with growth, but remains a residential community with an emphasis on single-family homes. At 19 square miles, Deerfield is home to the large cities of Landen, Maineville, and Sharonville as well as small communities like Kings Mills and 20 Mile Stand. The township has the largest business base in Warren County.
