The rich heritage of steamboat shipping led to the development of the city's famous Gamblers' Row, which now is further enhanced as the home port of Argosy Casino and Hotel. As the world's most popular riverboat drawing nearly 8 million visitors a year, Argosy has helped add to the city's newest nickname-"Casino City".


25 miles from the heart of Cincinnati, many residents opt for the rural life in Lawrenceburg and work in Cincinnati. A 20 minutes drive via Interstate 275 will get you to the International Airport or downtown via Interstate 74.


Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg serves the county's medical needs, and is in the midst of a $38 million construction project improving the hospital to meet growing population demands. The Community Mental Health Facility is downtown, and Mercy Franciscan Health Center with flight access to downtown Cincinnati trauma centers is in nearby Harrison, Ohio.


Just off the interstate is the hub of Lawrenceburg's commercial shopping district with enough stores, video rentals, and convenience outlets to meet every need. Specialty and antique stores are in the downtown area.


Nestled in a scenic river valley outdoor life is active here with the opportunity to hike, bicycle or drive to explore the breathtaking hills and valleys. The Ohio River provides access via numerous deep water marinas and fishing recreation. Versailles State Park is only a short drive to the west and offers camping and hiking. Perfect North Slopes is the area's only ski resort providing ski runs throughout the season. Golfers will find a number of courses in the area, including two in Lawrenceburg.
