Introduction
Independence serves as the county seat of Kenton County. This quiet town features the traditional white courthouse in the town square. As well as new development, the community has both a rural and suburban mix - each complimenting the other.

There are numerous basketball courts and baseball fields in Independence. Pee Wee football and knothole baseball are available for boys and girls. Various clubs and organizations are in the area. Kenton Golf Course, a public course, is nearby. The Kenton YMCA has a summer children's program.
