Greater Cincinnati has many choices when selecting public, private or chartered educational institutions. Most schools offer programs for gifted and special education needs in addition to standard classes. Cincinnati Public Schools is the largest single school district in the area while the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, which includes Dayton, is the ninth largest system of Catholic schools in the United States.
As the area is composed of dozens of municipalities, there are also numerous other public school districts to consider when moving here. There are a wide range of private and parochial schools, both secular and religious. These include Montessori schools, special needs schools and highly selective college-prep secondary institutions. Private schools are not under the direction of any single agency and should be addressed individually before enrolling.
