St. Elizabeth Hospital East is five minutes from the center of town and several Cincinnati hospitals are about ten minutes away. Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is available. Doctors’ offices are located in the city.

Newport, located at the confluence of the Licking and Ohio Rivers directly across from Cincinnati, is an old river town with a rich history and a focus on the future. The city was settled in 1791 and was named after Christopher Newport, the commander of the first ship to reach Jamestown, Virginia. The city grew especially with a large German immigration during the late 1800s. Newport used to have a bit of a reputation as a “Sin City” – due to gambling halls and other not-so-savory activities on Monmouth Street. During the 1980s and 1990s, Newport transformed itself with a focus on tourism and its riverfront. In 1999, the Newport  Aquarium opened and boasts a collection of over 11,000 aquatic creatures, including 50 sharks which can be viewed through 200 feet of clear, underwater tunnels. The following year, the Newport on the Levee shopping and entertainment development opened.  With over 17,000 residents, Newport is now a great place to play, walk and live.

Northern Kentucky

Several Northern Kentucky hospitals and their branches, St. Elizabeth and St. Elizabeth, are within a few minutes driving. The Ludlow Volunteer Fire provides EMS service to the area.

Ludlow was once home to Lagoon Amusement Park, a major recreational center for the Greater Cincinnati area between 1895 and 1920. After its closing, part of the Lagoon property was developed as a residential neighborhood. Today parts of Lake Street, Laurel, Stokesay, Deverill and Ludford were built on its site.

Riverfront access allows boaters and fishing enthusiasts easy access to the Ohio River. Numerous festivals and outdoor events each summer weekend provide an endless supply of outdoor activities in nearby Cincinnati, Covington and Newport riverfronts. The city hosts an annual yard sale, a Memorial Day parade and a Holidays Shop Day (in support of local businesses).

For everyday needs, Ludlow has many options from locally owned and nationally branded stores and shops. Most residents patronize other Kenton County communities of Covington, Villa Hills, Ft. Mitchell or Crescent Springs to do their daily shopping. Downtown Cincinnati and several local shopping malls offer more extensive shopping within a 15-minute drive.

Ludlow, situated in north central Kenton County, is often thought of as a suburb of Covington, Kentucky. The city is bordered on the north by the Ohio River, on the east by Covington, and shares its southern border with Fort Wright. With its easy access to the riverfront and I-75, it has become a bedroom community for many who work across the river. The city, like many other small towns, experienced a baby boom following World War II, but today Ludlow is known for its close-knit neighborhoods. There are 4,400 residents. One finds many types of homes in Ludlow. From newly built condominiums with sweeping river views to older homes with character, there are a wide variety of styles and prices in housing options.

Ludlow

Less than five minutes from downtown Cincinnati off easily accessible I-75, it’s easy to get around in Ludlow. Meandering Kentucky Route 8 (Elm Street or Highway Avenue) is the main access to the city, linking it to Bromley on the west and Covington to the east. St. Rt. 1072 (or Sleepy Hollow Rd) offers easy access to the city. The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) provides bus service through the region and into downtown Cincinnati. Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport is nearby at a close 14 miles.

St. Elizabeth Medical Center North is located within the City of Covington. The University of Cincinnati Medical Center is just minutes away. Children's Hospital is located in Cincinnati.

Covington is Northern Kentucky’s largest city and is the fifth largest city in Kentucky. The city is currently undergoing a dynamic surge of growth and renovation. The city is located between the Licking and Ohio Rivers and has a population of 43,000 residents. The city was founded in 1814.

Covington is famous for Devou Park which contains 700+ acres of beautiful grounds complete with an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, museum and amphitheater as well as a beautiful view of downtown Cincinnati and Covington. 

Covington has many parks to enjoy: Randolph Park has an Olympic-sized swimming pool as well a picnic shelter, playground basketball court and ball field. Peaselburg Little Peoples Playland has a fenced-in playground. The Lance Corporal Justin Sims Memorial Park has a playground and picnic tables. Goebel Park offers trails, picnic shelter, playground and water park/pool. The Annie Hargraves has a playground, basketball court and picnic areas. The 30th Street Decoursey Park features trails, a picnic shelter, playground and basketball court.  Barb Cook Park has a playground and basketball court. George Rogers Clark Park is along the Ohio River offering beautiful views of downtown Cincinnati to those who walk and bike along the sidewalks. Kenney Shields Park offers trails and a basketball court and connects to the Goebel pool via a walking trail. Goebel Park is best known for its German-style Carroll chimes clock tower. This park has trails, a picnic shelter, playground and waterpark/pool. Hard Pike Park is the southernmost park in Covington has a playground, picnic tables and benches. The Licking River Greenway Trails connects the Licking River, Covington, Taylor Mill and Newport with a 12-14 miles trail system when it is completed. The George Steinford Park is the Sixth Street Promenade in Covington and is the heart of the MainStrasse Village. Many residents stroll and walk their dogs while enjoying the village-style views. Many events are held along this promenade. The Bill Cappel Youth Sports Complex is a large park that includes five lit ball fields, two soccer fields, picnic shelter, walking paths and a zero-depth water park. BF Howard Park features a beautiful fountain and benches.The annual WEBN Fireworks along the Ohio River riverfront are held during the Labor Day weekend. Covington residents have stunning views of this fireworks display from along the river banks to the top of Devou Park. 

Twin Oaks golf course is located in the Rosedale section of Covington and is a beautiful, well maintained 18-hole golf course. The Devou Park golf course offers 18 holes for golfers of all abilities.

The historic MainStrasse area of the city is a very attractive renovated shopping area with a distinctive German flavor and small specialty shops. Stores are also located just across the bridge in downtown Cincinnati.

New hotels, office towers and riverboat restaurants along the riverfront are among the most prestigious in the Greater Cincinnati area. Covington is also aware of the importance of maintaining its heritage of fine old homes. Many of these lovely homes and 19th century row houses are on the National Register of Historic places. In recent years, homes and condominiums that take advantage of the spectacular river and Cincinnati skyline views have been built. With this combination of progress and heritage, Covington offers its residents an exciting urban lifestyle with a touch of history.

Covington

The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (T.A.N.K.) services Covington extensively. I-75 travels through Covington, and within a 10-minute drive is Interstate I-275. There are three bridges connecting Covington with Cincinnati to the north and two bridges with Newport and the rest of Campbell County to the east. Covington is a 15-minute drive to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Bellevue was named after the Revolutionary war hero General James Taylor, one of the wealthiest men in Kentucky after the Civil War. He named the city, Bellevue (Beautiful View) after a creek near his plantation in Virginia. Not only did he name the city, but he also promptly named most of the streets in the historic district – Lafayette Avenue, Taylor Avenue, Washington Avenue, etc... One can visit his home on the East Row Historic District in nearby Newport.

With its front porch view of the Ohio River and all of downtown Cincinnati’s numerous festivals and events, Bellevue residents are uniquely poised to participate in just about whatever they choose to do. From boating, to antiquing, shopping to exploring, it’s all minutes away. 

Sports lovers will enjoy Bellevue’s parks: the Thomas J. Weithorn Memorial Beach Park is home to a summer concert series for all residents to enjoy. The Bellevue Veterans Park offers three ball fields, a busy volleyball court and horseshoe pits. Swope Park has a playground and basketball courts. The Callahan Community Center offers additional recreation. 

The nearby Newport on the Levy provides ample nightlife opportunities and across the river you’ll find professional football, baseball, hockey and numerous sports venues. Community events include an Art in the Park,  Halloween trick or treating and a Christmas Walk.

With its emphasis on antiques and arts and crafts shops along Fairfield Avenue, Bellevue is a shopper’s haven. Nearby grocery and destination shops provide for the homeowners basic needs. Just across the river in downtown Cincinnati is home to some of the area’s premier shopping destinations; area shopping malls are within a 15-minute drive. The business association hosts many local events that appeal to those who want to support the local restaurants and shops. Bellevue has developed a "foodie" reputation – there are quite a few local eateries to enjoy! And, don't forget to stop at Schneider's Sweet Shop for  an ice cream or candy treat!

With its spectacular front porch view of downtown Cincinnati and Mt. Adams, Bellevue is tucked into the northern corner of Campbell County, bordered by Newport on the west, Dayton on the east and the Ohio River as its northern border. Bellevue is poised for a substantial economic development explosion as one of the Northern Kentucky riverfront’s last underdeveloped sites. Several residential and commercial developments are revitalizing this city of just over 6,400 residents. Bellevue’s focus on riverfront living and its easy access to downtown Cincinnati continues to draw homeowners from surrounding areas. Bellevue offers many styles and price points for homes. Its residential areas have well-preserved old homes that exude in charm. From midrise condominiums with breathtaking Ohio River views to more modest homes, Bellevue has it all.

Bellevue

Less than five minutes from downtown Cincinnati off easily accessible I-471, it’s easy to get around in Bellevue. The Daniel Carter Beard Bridge (also known as the “Big Mac”) connects Bellevue with downtown Cincinnati. Meandering Kentucky Rt. 8 (Fairfield Avenue) bisects the city, linking it to the nearby entertainment district in Newport as well as the Mary Ingles Highway along the county’s riverfront. The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) provides bus service through the region, and into downtown Cincinnati. Two marinas offer water transport and Ohio River docking. Greater Cincinnati International Airport is a close 13 miles.

St. Elizabeth East and all major Cincinnati Hospitals are within 15 to 20 minutes. EMS (Emergency Medical Service) is available.

Dayton is the northernmost community in Kentucky and has 5,300 residents. Located along the Ohio River bank, Dayton is opening its picturesque waterfront to potential commercialism. 

The Ohio River has always played an important role with Dayton. Historically, the area had sand beaches along the riverfront that drew many visitors. Pollution in the river ruined these beaches and the river level was finally raised with dams – thus destroying all beach fronts. During its heyday, Dayton featured many hotels for steamboat passengers. The city had a ferry boat that transported passengers into Cincinnati daily. Many of the older Dayton homes have widow walks with views of the Ohio River.

Dayton has two marinas for boat enthusiasts: Riverside Marina has boats as well as a restaurant with weekend live music. The Marina at Manhattan Harbor also has boat slips for rent as well as a restaurant. 

The city school system provides recreational opportunities such as tennis courts, ball fields, and picnic areas for residents, promoting a growing community spirit. Baseball, tennis, basketball, picnic, and water sports are available. 

The city hosts several community events including an annual Kite Fest and Histories on the Square where residents share their Dayton stories. 

Community parks include Monument Park, Walker Park, Tacoma Park, Sargeant Park and the Gil Lynn Park.

Local shops of all varieties fill most needs. The 'Tharp Dayton Heritage Museum' preserves the history of the city.

Luxury homes are taking advantage of the appealing river view in Dayton at a former marina site. Kentucky Homefest was hosted along the Ohio River banks at Manhattan Harbor with homes built to enjoy the breathtaking views of downtown Cincinnati. Dayton

Public transportation is provided by TANK, the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky. Route 8 connects Dayton to I-471. Two marinas allow access to the Ohio River. The city is two miles from downtown Cincinnati.

The city provides swimming facilities, tennis, ballfields and picnicking areas. Parks include 'Bartlett Field', 'Bernadette Watkins Park ', 'Buena Vista Park', 'Clifton Neighborhood Park', 'Gateway Neighborhood Park', 'General James Taylor Park ' (site of the annual Riverfest celebration), 'Mansion Hill Neighborhood Park', 'Phelan Park', 'Providence Park', 'Riddleview Park', 'Tim Freudenberg Memorial Park' and 'Veterans Memorial Park' (which features a pool). 

The river brings many people to Newport where they enjoy the views, BB Riverboat tours, many festivals and other events. Annual events include: Greater Cincinnat Chilifest; Taste of Newport; Newport Italianfest; Newport Motorcycle Rally; Bacon, Bourbon & Brew Festival; Gleir’s Goettafest;  Great Inland Seafood Festival; Riverfest; Harvest Fee and Newport Oktoberfest. 

Local merchants provide the necessities, with Newport Shopping Center offering a variety of shops. Local and national chain stores are located in the city. Newport on the Levee features many stores and restaurants to enjoy. The Hofbrauhaus is modeled after its namesake in Munich, Germany and has brews, Germany food and entertainment.

Newport is the largest city in Campbell County and the center of much political, commercial and industrial activity. It has a number of neighborhoods offering stately homes and elegant mansions on tree-lined streets, as well as hillside condos with magnificent views of downtown Cincinnati. In recent years, much-needed renovation has taken place, especially in the Mansion Hill and Gateway neighborhoods. Three bridges connect Newport to downtown Cincinnati. Newport’s riverfront, with spectacular views of Cincinnati, has seen major growth in recent years and has attracted new industry to the area. 

Six National Register historic districts in Newport feature many individual homes listed as landmarks. Many of these homes are located at the East Row Historic District that includes a part of the Mansion Hill and the East Newport historic district.

Newport

Interstate 471 and two other bridges connect Newport to downtown Cincinnati. There are two other bridges that connect the city to Covington. Public transportation services all parts of the city. Newport offers two marinas for water transportation and recreation. I-471 connects to I-275 which makes easy  travel to all of a Northern Kentucky.
